(8) BRINGITONHOMETOME couldn't go with a strong leader in his debut, but this might be an easier spot and he gets a slight nod in a Pick 5 opening leg that has a few options. I like the speed that (7) ACEFORTYFOUR HAWK flashed for the opening 3/4 in his second qualifier. He could take these a long way on the engine tonight. (4) WICKED PRINCE shows a good qualifier at Kawartha Downs, and he has license to be much faster on the bigger track tonight. He is another in with a shot. (2) SPORTS ACTIVATOR overcame trouble to get 2nd in his debut. He is in the exotics mix tonight.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS

(1) PORTERS MAN is one of several Jimmy Freight rookies that have looked good on debut and the colt that beat him would be favored here; top call. (3) WIKIPEDIA looked good winning his qualifier on June 24th and his trainer typically sends them ready. He is the other one that I'll use in the early Pick 5. (7) STOPWATCH was in a tough spot in his debut, trying to close ground after the leader was allowed to click off three consecutive 29 quarters. He could improve sharply off that mile. (9) STEELWHEEL HANOVER is worth a look for the exotics on the barn change to Menary.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS

I think (6) CENTURY KOMODO has more to offer than what you saw in his debut where he basically had no shot sitting behind a snail's pace. It’s go time now in leg one of Grassroots and I'll stick with him. (9) D A WICKED SHINE raced great, and he was placed first. He is the one to beat here. (1) GREAT BET is one-for-one, and he attracts J Mac, so he is likely live here; using. (2) JIMMY BILLIE B is another that chased a slow pace that can improve tonight; using underneath.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1 2YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 4

(5) THE CANAM BANKER and (2) MYRETIREMENTDREAM are clearly fastest and Henry, who drove both to dominant maiden wins, opts for the former and so will I, but I'll use both in the multis. (8) MUSCLE DETECTOR trotted a nice back 1/2 on debut and he is another in with a shot here. I expect him to get a more aggressive steer this time. (6) SALEM SEELSTER was a $110,000 London Classic buy and he should be in the exotics mix at first asking tonight.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS

Good Grassroots division here with several nice colts. I'll side with (5) DO BETTER who has looked good in all three of his winning miles. (3) BARSTOOL MOUNTAIN raced great first up on debut, throwing down a 25 4/5 kicker in defeat. This barn always has a ton of good rookies, and he should be right there with these. (7) ERINWOOD BIGRIG got all that he could on debut because there was no catching the leader who is a very good colt that stole pedestrian fractions. He is in the exotics mix. (1) WATCH YOUR MOUTH can close for a small share here.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 1 2YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 5

(8) MRSTERY DEAL squandered a big lead and a great shot at a win when he made what looked like a brief speed break in mid stretch last time. He can make amends here if he stays flat. (6) SOAR HIGHER retains the leading driver after a useful debut race and he is in with a decent shot tonight. (3) JACK N ABS closed a good gap in his debut and McNair will surely be more aggressive in this spot. He isn't out of this. (5) LMC MR SQUISHY was much better in his second race as expected and he should be in the mix here, too.

Race 7: F&M 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT

I liked (1) TOP SHELF's debut effort and the rail is better than the 10-hole. She gets top billing here. (5) LADYSMITH finished ahead of the choice, but she is getting good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I won't take a short price here. Debutant (4) SWEET CHEDDAR dropped six seconds in a week, and she is another in with a shot here, although none of her siblings were spectacular. (9) DEADLY DELIGHT should be good for a slice here exiting the Kin Pace.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS

Tough race here. (4) VIS A VIS BLUECHIP gets a slight nod exiting a strong race and kicking in 26 2/5. $70K Harrisburg purchase (8) ASTARWASBORN is a 1/2 to $980K earner Zero Tolerance (29-14-7-2, 1:50 2/5 F.) who seems well spotted for this debut; using. $30K London buy (7) D A MCDREAMY looks like a decent one for Team Steacy and he should contend at first asking. (2) FIREARM should be better tonight after pacing a sub-56 back 1/2 in an impossible position on debut.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2YO PACING COLTS AND GELDINGS - Pick 4

(3) ENFORCER was a good 2nd to a tough winner in his debut and he gets top billing here. (9) ALWAYS A THRILL had an even debut, and he is likely capable of much better. He could add some value to the late multis starting from out there. (1) YOUR PARTY will likely take action off his latest sharp qualifier, but his three siblings have a combined 1 for 63 record. I'm inclined to fade him starting from the rail for this debut. (6) LIEGE SEELSTER is worth a look for trainer Beaton on debut.

Race 10: F&M 5YO and NW $5,000 LT

(10) REDLANDBETHANYJEAN was totally blocked for most of the stretch and once free she closed with good energy. If Sorrie lets her roll, she may lead all the way at a price. Call to upset. (3) CHICKENTOWN produced big late kicks in both her last two starts and she should get a strong pace to track tonight. She has a good chance to repeat. (9) OCCASIONALLY SHARP recovered well from a break last week but I wonder how far back she will be early in this mile. I'd demand a price here. (1) ULTIMATE SPEED brings good form in from the 'B' tracks, and she should be part of the exotics here.

Race 11: Pop Up Series Final

(5) HARRY G could be the last horse to move in a race that sets up for a closer and I'll take a swing for the fences with him in this Pop Up final. (4) ROCKIN N TALKIN gets Macdonald for this final and he will likely look to blast off the gate and force all of his rivals to take a seat. He could lead all the way. (7) SOUTHSIDE EDDY raced great twice in this series, so he is hard to leave out. (1) STOP THE SHOOTIN is 2 for 2 in the series but Roy opts for Southside Eddy tonight. From the rail in a race where you know several will be blasting out of there at the start, I will play to beat him.

Race 12: F&M NW $4,300 L5 AE: OPT CLM $20,000

(9) SHOOT THE WHISKEY takes a giant class drop here and its hard to see her getting beat at this level. (7) SILENT CROSSING dropped to this level last week, but she was first up chasing an unyielding leader that was cutting some big fractions. She can be an Exacta factor tonight. (2) SUNSHINEATTHEBEACH is in good form, and she will probably sit another good trip and rally for a share here. (10) JM BETONSIX is another dropper, but a small share is probably her ceiling starting from post 10. (8) BUTTERFLY KISSES will probably rally past a few of these late to take a share.
