Top Pick Stats: 216/621 = -$52.40 Best Bets: 15/58 = –$12.20; Spot Plays: 17/58 = +$4.60 Best Bet:  THE WRITER (Race 1) Spot Play: STARS TREASURE (race 13) Early Pick 5: 1/5/2,4,6,7/4/3,5,6,9 = $3.20 Middle Pick 5: 2,5/2/5,6,8/5/1,4,9 = $3.60 Late Pick 5: 5/1,4,5/1,6/6/5 = $1.20 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,100 LIFETIME WITH ALLOWANCES. (1) THE WRITER is coming off a dominant score in his seasonal debut at Western Fair. He has just two lifetime starts, and has been victorious in each of them. He will try his hand here at the big track, and will pick up James MacDonald in the process. He appeared to have plenty left in that recent score, and is one that should be able to parlay that into another winning performance this evening. (7) D A SUPER GLO was third over turning for home, and finished up nicely to be 4th in that try. He was moving well and was gaining on rivals he was chasing, and can build off that effort this evening. (3) JOHN HILL is coming off a pair of runner up finishes at Rideau Carelton. He will pick up the services of Louis-Philippe Roy, and will now race out of the barn of Kyle Fellows. He’s intriguing. (5) NOVA BLU is winless in 13 tries in his career, but has hit the board in 4 of 7 tries this year. He can hit the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ARMBRO FLIGHT: ELIMINATION - FILLIES & MARES - 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER. (5) DIAL SQUARE S was a winner in her North American debut, despite going some quick panels in that outing. She cleared to the lead and refused to yield to a rival who was vying for the friend, resulting in a throwdown throughout most of the mile. She just hung on over a rival who was charging hard late, but was a strong winner nevertheless. I don’t anticipating there being too much action in this short field, where all but 1 or 2 make the final, and I think she’ll be able to take this field from start to finish this evening. (3) NELSONBRITEAGLE NO wasn’t much of a factor in her seasonal debut, especially drawing pp9. She was just even in the lane when she got her chance to trot, but we know she is much better than what she’s shown. She draws better, has a tightener under her belt and can show improvement in her second start of 2025 this evening. (1) M MS DREAM got issued a parking ticket in her latest after trying to clear to the lead over the choice in that outing. She got hung out to try and still finished a valiant 3rd despite that. She will draw the rail in this elimination for the Armbro Flight, and I’d imagine they want an easier trip here; I’ll slot her in for a share. (4) TACTICAL STRIKE is coming off a sharp qualifying score in preparation for her seasonal debut. She draws well and should have every chance to make the final here. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (7) OH A LEGEND will be making her first pari-mutuel start since late February. She made a miscue in that contest and never returned to racing action until now. She is coming off a winning qualifying prep on May 24, where she tripped out nicely and showed some good pace when shown racetrack by driver Tyler Borth. She can get the best of this field if she’s back to her old self and is one I’ll side with in a field that consists of a few 3YO’s that could be pointed towards local stakes engagements. (4) AARDIES MONEY N made a miscue off the gate in her latest and was out of contention early. She was coming off a pair of nice scores in her starts prior before that mishap. She comes into this contest having now raced in a couple weeks but should be competitive if she minds her manners. (6) WICKED N SINGLE never had a chance from an outside draw in her most recent try. She finished up nicely to be 4th and is one who draws better here this evening. She’s in with a chance with the right trip. (2) ABSOLUTION hasn’t hit the board in two straight tries, but can hit the ticket in this short field.  Race 4: GOODTIMES: ELIMINATION - 3 YEAR OLD OPEN. (4) LANDING ON TIME has started off his sophomore campaign a perfect 2-2 coming into this Goodtimes elimination. He draws well and should be tough to beat in this spot based on his first two victories; top call. (1) P L SPENCER was aggressively handled in his latest and was able to convert in gate to wire fashion. He had a chance to take a 4 hole in that contest but elected to drive on to the lead and it was the winning result. He will have to start from the rail this evening and will more than likely have to be racing off a helmet this evening, which he’s proven he’s capable of. He keeps improving. (2) LMC WAGON WHEEL made his first start in close to a month and drew pp9 in that effort. He was handled conservatively but was trotting very well on the end of it, and is one that should be sitting on a good effort this evening. (7) GAP KRONOS will be making his sophomore debut off a lone qualifying try. He was 2nd to a rival who is among the top Hambletonian contenders, and he should have every opportunity to qualify for next week’s final this evening. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,500 LAST 5 STARTS.  AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. (5) SHES GOT IT ALL hasn’t been much of a factor throughout six starts this year, failing to hit the board in each of them. She draws the middle of the gate this evening and takes a further drop down in class. This might be what she needs to get back on track. I’ll side with her and hope the class is on display this evening. (6) ROCKNROLL ANNIE was runner-up to a strong winner last time out. She draws the middle of the gate and should be pointed forward off the gate here. (3) ONE LAST BET rounded out the super last time out. She hasn’t found the winner’s circle in 18 tries this year, but should have every chance to hit the ticket. (9) FOREVER BETTOR closed nicely and can grab a share here. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $19,250) LIFETIME. (5) MYMOMSANACE is coming off a gate to wire score at London last time out. This three-year-old daughter of Big Jim loves to do her work on the engine and is one that will likely be aggressively handled in this spot yet again, especially with where she draws. Doug McNair picks up the drive here and we will go in this direction. (2) LADY GAMBLER was one I liked last time out but she didn’t have much to offer. She worked out a second-over trip and was gapping her cover, and was fading backwards. She might be able to bounce back and is one I’ll use in multis. (8) OCEANSIDE MAGIC closed okay to be 5th last time out. She draws outside for the 3rd consecutive try and can hit the ticket with the right trip. (3) EPSPRESSO BEANS ships in from Rideau off a pair of victories. He draws inside and can hit the ticket.  Race 7: ARMBRO FLIGHT: ELIMINATION - FILLIES & MARES - 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER. (2) DRAWN IMPRESSION is coming into this elimination off a trio of qualifiers, as she gears up for her first start as an aged mare. She showed good trot in each of those tries, and hails from a barn who typically has them even sharper ahead of a stakes event. She draws inside, and I’ll give her the nod at first-asking here. (3) CALL ME GOO is coming off a long qualifying try as she, too, gears up for her seasonal debut. She had plenty of trot in amongst rivals in that effort and is one that could prove tough to fend off if she’s tight enough. (1) ELISTA HANOVER is coming into this elim off a very good, 2nd place effort in her seasonal debut, to a mare I have pegged on top in the first elimination. She rallied nicely off cover and missed narrowly to the eventual winner, and she should be coming into this outing super confident. That was a great first effort. (4) BRAVO ANGEL S was working out a nice trip in her latest before jumping it off before the final turn. She qualified ahead of this elimination and put forth a nice 2nd place finish behind a rival who was sharp. She can grab a piece. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $38,250) LIFETIME. (8) MY HAPPY PLACE ships in from tries out East and will return to Mohawk Park where she’s competed successfully in the past. She is coming into this having won 2 out of her last 3 tries and is only I’ll give the kid to here, even from pp9. (5) ALL MY WISHES was a good 2nd to a sharp rival. She draws very well and should prove tough to beat if she gets a good trip. (6) PRESCELTO was very unlikely in her latest try when she had some rivals take her out of the race. She still showed some good movement up the inside and is one I view as a sneaky player this evening; I’ll use in multis. (1) DUCHESS DEO didn’t hit the board in her latest but she’ll have every chance to hit the ticket here.   Race 9: GOODTIMES: ELIMINATION - 3 YEAR OLD OPEN. STARTING FEE $2,000 CDN $1,525 USD. (5) EMOTICON LEGACY is coming off a dominant qualifying score as he gears up for this Goodtimes elimination. He looked sharp being on the lead and this is a colt who impressed as a rookie. He should be good to go at first asking, and is clearly the one to beat here. (4) EUGENE THE GENIUS will be making his 3rd start of the year coming into this contest. He is coming off a victory and will look to build off a strong rookie campaign that saw him find the winner’s circle 8 times in 10 starts. (1) BLANK is coming off a strong, second place finish to a colt who I thought was very strong qualifying. The winner will be making his debut in the opener at The Meadowlands on Friday, and should serve as an even better reference point coming into this affair. He has competed well vs. top stock last year and merits plenty of respect here. (2) WILDTURKEY HANOVER is coming off a game victory last time out and should be able to hit the ticket here. Race 10:  FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,900 LAST 5 STARTS OR $15,000 LAST 10 STARTS. (1) ONE LAST WISH is coming off a sneaky good effort last time out. She found a seam late in the mile and showed some good interest late. She picks up the services of Jody Jamieson and this is a live drive to pick up. (4) LYONS BETTORDAY took a drop in class last time out and was a non-factor despite a first over trip. She takes another drop down and she draws better here and should be tough to beat. (5) ALABAMA HANNAH has hit the board in 4 straight tries. She had a bit of pace behind rivals and draws well in this spot. She will be pointed forward and should have every chance. (2) GOUDAWON flashed some good pace late. She takes a dip, draws inside, and she will hit the ticket. Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, NW $15,750 LAST 5 STARTS.  AE: NW 5 RACES LIFETIME. (1) SO MUCH MORE is coming off a 3rd place effort in the Forest City Pace behind a mare who’s been razor sharp. She comes into this race sharp and will be back on a regular rotation, and she should be tight enough to get the job done vs. this group. (6) COCO JO JO floated out from the outside and tried to work out a good trip. She didn’t have much to offer in that affair in a 7th place effort. She draws a much more favorable draw, and has the ability to put forth a bounce back effort here. (4) LADY TERRA didn’t hit the board in the Forest City Pace, but held her own in that contest. She was coming into that event off a sweep of a Pop Up Series, and she draws well enough to grab a share here. (7) SETTN A PRECEDENT was 2nd behind a sharp, class-dropping mare in that contest. She draws outside but can close for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 12: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. (6) LIL SEBASTIAN made multiple moves in a winning effort last time out. He draws the middle of the gate again and should prove tough to beat off that victory. (2) ABOVEMYPAYGRADE failed to hit the board in his latest. He draws inside and might be able to get away in a better spot early, and will be a threat late in the mile. (7) EASILY THE BEST converted off a good trip to score in his latest. He draws outside and will need to work out another similar trip to get a big piece. He has enough gate speed to be put in play, and will be interesting to see how he’s handed off the car. (4) D A CAPTAINOBVIOUS is coming off a 3rd place effort in his latest. He draws well and can work out a good trip behind the choice, and can be a danger under the right circumstances. Race 13: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. (5) STARS TREASURE hasn’t hit the board in six straight tries. He will pick up the services of leading driver James MacDonald in this contest, and is one that can be a threat late in the mile. He hasn’t been as sharp, but the change of scenery might wake this horse up; top call. (3) JIMMY WHISPERS has been a consistent on-the-board finisher. He has hit the ticket 13 times in 19 starts and should be right there again. (4) VIS A VIS BLUE CHIP just got picked off late in the mile in what was a good effort in his first start for new trainer, Kyle Fellows. He draws the middle of the gate and should be aggressively handled in this spot; contender. (2) RUSTYS BETT has nabbed the show spot in back to back tries. He draws inside and he should be able to be right there once again. (6) CENTURY JAZZ draws well and can hit the ticket here.
