(9) NEW RULES has come up against some tough colts in recent NW2 starts and he may find this Grassroots field more to his liking. I don't mind the widest post for him here; top call. (5) LIKE CHAOS is on a big roll and he will have to be caught. He's hard to leave off early Pick 5 tickets. (3) DRIVERLESS finished well last week without threatening the winner. His good late speed should get him a share tonight. (6) DEADLINE HALL figures to get a good trip here racing near the front and he should stick around for a small share.

Race 2: 2YO Fillies NW1 LT

(7) TACTICAL STRIKE, and $80,000 Lexington purchase, looked good trotting to a win with a 28-flat kicker in her qualifier on June 15th and she gets top billing here at first asking. (1) COLD SNAPS, from the first crop of $1.97 million earning stallion Six Pack (1:49 1/5 M) also finished well in his second qualifier. She should be a threat. (3) D A ALICE, a $40,000 London Classic Sale purchase, showed some professionalism racing over an off track and she can contend for at least a share tonight. (5) LANDING ORDER, stablemate to the choice, is another that can take a share here on debut.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS LEG 2: 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS

(1) ALL STAR YANKEE looked terrific flying down the middle of the track in deep stretch last week. That was his best performance of the year so far and if he can repeat that mile, he can win here. (2) RESOLVE TO WIN made a nice recovery after breaking last week. He is the obvious threat if he stays flat. (3) DEVILS ARCH gets post relief tonight and he should be more aggressive. He is another in with a chance. (7) FLOYD THE FREAK likely sits a trip racing near the front and lands in the Tri or Super.

Race 4: POP UP SERIES NW $20,000 in 2023 - Pick 4

(7) STOP THE SHOOTIN dropped, popped, and took a new life mark last week and this spot doesn't look much tougher; call to repeat. (4) HES SWIFT fits well here and he almost surely will be raced much more aggressively. He should be the main threat. (6) HARRY G exits a fast race facing tougher on Monday night which may have just been a prep for the first leg of this series. He is in the mix here. (2) COLIGNY HANOVER brings good form back from Ottawa. He should close for a slice here.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS LEG 2: 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS

(4) DARBYSHIRE is simply fastest in here and he should be very tough to beat. (6) CRUISING TOM moves from the worst post to the best one and that can make him an Exacta factor in this spot. (7) YANK MY HALO is improving and she should take a share here. (2) C S GOLDPOLICY is capable of closing for a slice here.

Race 6: F&M NW $14,000 L5 or NW $24,000 L10 - Pick 5

The last time (7) MS QUICK SAND raced this low, she took a front-end victory in 1:50 1/5. I could see her blasting to the front and wiring these. (5) STYLE FOR A MILE was sitting in a good spot behind a destructive speed duel when she jumped it off on the final turn. Perhaps her missing close to three weeks was a factor now she returns in a week; using. (1) SNOW SHARK got a wild pace scenario to stalk last week that likely won’t be repeated tonight. I'll use her underneath. (2) BETTER BE DONNA N should get a better trip in this spot. She has upset potential.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS LEG 2: 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 4

(4) LITE THE CANDLES trotted a huge mile out all the way on the 13th and he gets post relief here which should be all he needs. I'll single him in this spot. (5) FOX VALLEY ONTARIO is razor sharp and he should be the main threat to the choice tonight. (2) IM ABOVE AVERAGE closed decently last week after squandering a win two starts back when he broke stride in the lane. He can take a share here. (9) IMPRESSIVE DUDE will likely get put into this race leaving the gate by part-owner Roy and he can stick around for a slice.

Race 8: POP UP SERIES NW $20,000 in 2023

(6) SOUTHSIDE EDDY has been facing better consistently and he should wake up tonight starting from the best post; top call. (2) ROCKIN N TALKIN is the other dropper that should be much better vs. these Pop Up foes and he is the other one that I'll use on multi-race tickets. Both (7) HERVEY HANOVER and (4) UF BETTORS HANOVER will be closing late from the back and either could win if the pace slows late in the mile.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS LEG 2: 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS

(6) THE HAZLETON is on a roll that is unlikely to be stopped here. (7) BUSTING WITH PRIDE has finished 2nd in all of the choice’s last three wins and a similar fate likely awaits him here. (8) CACTUSTOTHECLOUDS' debut was decent enough to suggest he can take a share here at a price. (4) NOTHINGBUTADREAMER is another that will likely land in the bottom of the exotics in this spot.

Race 10: F&M NW $8,000 L5 AE: OPT CLM $45,000 or starters for a purse of $12K or less L4

The probable pace scenario and flow should set this race up for a closer and (9) IN THE MOOD fits the bill; top call. I thought (8) SO FRISKY was decent last week and she could do here if she can find a better trip and a live helmet to follow; using. (6) MAJOR LEAGUE N has only one way to go: straight to the front and try to hold on. I see her lasting for a share in this spot. (5) TAKEYOURBREATHAWAY is capable of sitting and closing for a share in this spot. I'll use her underneath. (3) LITTLEBEARCAT can improve enough in this second start back to take a share.
