(8) COLLUSION HANOVER wired a field in leg 1 of the Grassroots then she stayed tight facing elders. A big speed try is likely coming here; top call. (5) KISS MY CHEEK produced a big mile to lose by a nose in leg 1 and she is another that will get more serious here; using. (1) WE MEET AGAIN was no secret last week as she pummeled an overmatched field. That 1:52 speed puts her right there if she can reproduce it facing better. (9) SWIFT TALKER looked good jogging at grand River, but she didn’t beat much there. I’ll use her underneath.

Race 2: 2YO Fillies NW1 LT

(8) BRIGHT GREEN is a $66K Lexington purchase from a first crop of a promising Ontario sire. I like that this filly got educated with three qualifiers in 13 days and she looks fast enough to win at first asking. (5) EXQUISITE TASTE brought $34K at the London sale and she showed high late speed in her second qualifier. She is one of several that can win in here. (2) INCANTATION was a willing 2nd in her qualifier on June 13th and she trotted strong to the wire. Her Hall of Fame trainer excels with young racehorses; using. (9) MEDLEY SEELSTER dropped three seconds in five days, and she is yet another possibility for early Pick 5 tickets.

Race 3: 2YO Colts and Geldings NW1 LT

(1) POWERCODE, from the first crop of Cattlewash, is several seconds fastest on paper here and he should be tough to beat on debut. (7) FIFTH AND FIVE, a $32K Lexington purchase and stablemate to the choice, fired a nice kicker in his second qualifier. He can complete the Exacta. (4) IMA PERFECT CHOICE should improve by default with Filion taking the lines and he should be an exotics factor. (3) SEAS THE DAY likely sits a following trip and closes for a share.

Race 4: 2YO Fillies NW1 LT - Pick 4

(7) FAMOUS FAST WORDS dug in gamely when a rival came with a strong challenge in the final 1/4 in her lone qualifier and she was accelerating noticeably at the wire. I’ll give the McIntosh homebred the nod on debut. $30,000 Lexington purchase (2) LITTLE PAPI looked good winning on a morning that the track was not yielding fast times, partially due to a strong headwind in the stretch. He is from the first crop of Papi Rob Hanover who himself had very high speed. (4) LADY GAMBLER is the filly that came hard at the choice on the final turn where she showed good acceleration but came off the turn a bit wide, possibly because she was moving so fast at that point. She could do here on debut, and she is another for Pick 4 and Pick 5 consideration. $32,000 Harrisburg purchase (6) BANNER DAY is related to several winners, and she should be in the exotics mix here.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG TWO 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES

This is a good spot for (7) RESILIENCE, who faced elders after closing late for a share in Leg 1 in her sophomore debut. I think Roy sends her forward here and she gets top billing. (2) PASTA DELIGHT was 2nd to a very good filly in Leg 1 and she came back with another solid try. She looks like the main threat; using. (6) CONTROL THE FIRE comes in off a nice win at Georgina over a track rated two seconds slow and she is worth a look. (5) ONTOP RAINSTORM was only 1/2-length behind a filly that was taking her third straight win last week. She can be part of the exotics here.

Race 6: 2YO Colts and Geldings NW1 LT - Pick 5

(7) CENTURY LEGION shows two strong qualifiers and The Stable likes to win early. This $25,000 London Classic sale buy gets the nod. (6) GUCCI GUCCI GOO was 2nd to the most impressive trot qualifier winner on 6/8 and this son of Green Manalishi can go forward off that mile; using. I don’t love the 1-hole for a debuting rookie trotter, but (1) MANFORCE demands consideration with his powerful qualifying win a week ago. (9) SOUTHWIND FRANCOO dropped close to three seconds in his second qualifier, and he figures to be part of the exotics.

Race 7: NW $2,890 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 - Pick 4

This is a big drop for (4) QUEBEC HANOVER and I he has a good chance to lead all the way. (2) MUSCLE FASHION got a needed start back in the same race as the choice. He can leave much better than he showed there, and he could be a pocket rocket tonight; using. (6) BBC SPORTSBOY has been a win machine on the B tracks this year and he races for Moreau off the claim. Those two factors make him a contender here. (3) CADILLAC MOON raced well last week at a level similar to tonight’s. He is in the exotics mix.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG TWO 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES

(7) WE BELIEVIN is on a roll, having taken two more wins since her upset score in Leg 1. I’ll stick with her as she seeks the fourpeat. (10) HOW MUCH has shown she is capable of pacing 1:50 so she is hard to dismiss here, even from post 10. Something likely went amiss for (3) THIS MAGIC MOMENT last week as that line is just too bad to believe. I think she rebounds here and takes at least a share. (8) ANN raced well from post 10 last week. I think she takes a share here.

Race 9: NW $20,000 in 2023/24 or N/A $1,165 P/S in 2023/24 (Min. 10 starts)

(6) ROSE RUN WHY NOT got a needed clean line vs. better now she draws best; down the road. (8) FEEL THE FORCE finished just ahead of the choice in that race and he usually gets send when he draws outside. I’ll use him on late multi-race tickets. (7) ZIP ME UP stacks up okay with these but I wonder if he will get over bet in this spot. I’ll play to beat him. (4) TALISMANO tried a second move last week and he had no pop on the last turn. He can be closer if he secures the pocket the whole way this time.

Race 10: 5YO and younger winners of 2 (F&M3) but not more than 4 (F&M5) or $45,000 LT

(2) COOL MA BELLE fires a big kicker last week despite having missed a week. If she is a bit sharper now, look out. (5) BARONESS HILL tripped out to win at this level two starts back and McNair will probably find her a good trip here racing near the front; using. (7) WILLOWTIME has been disappointing so far this year and he hasn’t shown any of the blazing early speed that served him so well at two. I imagine he will be firing off the gate tonight in a sort of test drive on the front end. If he recaptures his good form, he will be tough to catch. (4) FLIGHT LANDING got a good trip and won at a price by outpacing his rivals in the final 1/4. These are tougher and a small share is likely for him tonight. (8) COLD SNAPS will likely be too far back from post eight to make an impression tonight; small share predicted.
