(6) ROMANTIC BEAUTY just got picked off in her latest but produced a nice mile. Look for her to rebound in her first Grassroots try of the season. (2) COULD BE QUEEN comes off a near wire-to-wire score in London and has shown good speed around the Mohawk oval. (1) TEESHA SEELSTER held her own last week but will need a better trip tonight. I can see her getting a piece. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,600 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $7,250 LAST 8 STARTS.(W/O $10,500 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,805 P/S IN 2025.2026. (1) SWIFT TALKER gets a drop in class and could break her winless streak if she gets the right trip. She could be an overlay here. (2) CC ROCKIN ROSIE has been sharp in her last two tries at this level but has been off for a few weeks. If she can sustain her outside move, she should be tough again. (8) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL was part of a thrilling finish in her latest and used a sharp middle move to get herself into contention. She is another who is winless this season, however. Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (2) AUNT GERTRUDE has been excellent and should only continue to improve with more starts. Her versatility makes her a big threat. (3) NAUGHTY DELIGHT should be properly placed when moving back to stakes competition. She paced strong final quarters against A Clean Deal, but isn’t a match for them right now.  (1) TAINTED LOVE flashed potential two back when flying home and got a great steer in her latest in London. The top three on paper loom large. Race 5: NW $1,300 LAST 4 OR $3,000 LAST 8 STS. AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. AE: NW $15,000 IN 2026 (MIN 8 STS). (3) JAYPORT CASH is second back after needing a qualifier and looked okay in his first start back. I expect him to be better tonight; A class drop certainly helps. (2) MADE OF MAGIC gets a big post switch after grabbing a check in his latest. A forward trip should see him right in the mix. (6) BUCK DANCER has been just even in his last few but another forward trip could see him break that trend. Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (1) CATTLEKISS gets a key driver change tonight which should attract some attention. Although she came up short in her latest, I didn’t mind the mile she went. I’ll give her the nod. (6) NO BETTER AIR was a strong second in her latest in Grassroots competition. I expect her to be forwardly placed and right there late. (7) MALICIA SPEED was outracing her odds in stakes company but had to settle for a minor check in her latest. She could mix things up if she also blasts out. Race 7: CASUAL BREEZE: (GR 3). 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (7) ALL TIME TROT S was a sharp winner in last week’s overnight prep and looks like another Svanstedt trotter that will make noise right away in Canada. (2) KNGTSTLKRS GAMES flashed potential at two, but I wasn’t sure how ready she would be off the bench. Well, she was more than ready and absolutely cruised. She will fit here. (1) TH TRIX R FORKIDS held her own in a Gold and looks like a filly that should be heard from throughout the summer. McNair gives her the nod. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 2. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD). (1) CACKLE BERRY found herself stuck behind horses after an opening half that was much more chaotic than many thought. A cleaner trip should see her get the job done. (3) A BETS A BET pulled off an upset in her latest after an excellent steer by Jamieson. He saved all the ground before pulling outside of the favorite, and the filly got up. She’ll need to do a bit more work tonight, but should be in the mix. (6) HORSE WITH A PLAN was out of position again last week and had to settle for a minor share. She won’t break her winless season if she starts from the back. Race 9: CASUAL BREEZE: (GR 3). 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (4) BLUE JEAN GAL is a perfect three for three this year with her latest being her best. After three weeks off, she’ll need to bring her best against this group. (6) SHIMMERING HANOVER produced a sharp win when returning to Mohawk and draws a great post tonight. She is one of many who should be in the mix. (9) BUSY MISS LISSY S is another Svanstedt filly who has shown to be of stakes caliber, but she hasn’t raced in over a month. The qualifier was decent, but she draws poorly. She was fired to the lead two starts ago but cut a middle half that allowed others to stay in it. Fourth back could be her time to put it all together. (8) LETS N JOY N had a tough trip in the Forest City but nearly strung together five Open wins before that. An outside draw shouldn’t bother her. (5) HORIZON SEELSTER was very good last week and has won five of seven starts this year. She should be used early in the mile and be right there again. Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,500 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $15,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E) AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. (5) TWIN B EMPRESS is three for three at this level, and I’m honestly surprised nobody has thrown a claim in yet. She has been in the top two in 10 of 11 starts this season. (10) TELLS ON A ROLL gets another drop but has to navigate the high draw. I would expect Cullen to leave out and try to secure a good trip. (3) ONE LAST WISH is another who looks for a wake up. She was better in her latest and could look to work off a helmet tonight.rrrrrg
