Top Pick Stats: 115/384 = -$78.60 Best Bets: 12/38 = –$19.20; Spot Plays: 7/38 = -$10.70 Best Bet: TRICKY WICKY (RACE 7) Spot Play: CONTROL ROCKS (RACE 2) Early Pick 5: 5,8,10/2/5,7/4,9,10/2,3,6 = $10.80 Mid Pick 5: 5/3/6,7/1/5,7,8,10 = $1.60 Late Pick 5: 1/ 5,7,8,10/5,6,9/2,4/9 = $4.80 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. (8) LANDING ON TIME will be making his 3YO debut off a pair of qualifiers. He staked to task in his most recent prep and flashed a very strong, winning mile that was trotted in 1:56. He will be awfully tough to beat off that effort and is one I’ll give top honors to here to kick off the card. (10) FRENCH VODKA is coming off a pair of qualifiers as he gears up for his sophomore campaign. Both of those preps were good efforts but he comes into the race starting from far outside. He has enough gate speed to float out and secure a good spot early, but the win % for young trotters from pp10 is very low, likely making him a low % wager… But the talent is there. (5) GO BLUE has hit the board in all three tries this year. He draws the middle of the gate and will likely be sent forward by Doug McNair here, making him a contender. (7) EXTENDED SESSION will make his sophomore debut off a pair of qualifiers. He didn’t look as sharp in his first one and made a miscue in qualifier number two. I’ll wait and see with this guy. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (2) CONTROL ROCKS is one I pegged as a spot play last week after coming off a sneaky good qualifying try. He was following a rival who wasn’t advancing and ultimately had too much ground to make up turning for home. He was running in a bit but was moving very well late, and is our clear top choice here in what will be a much shorter offering. (6) CORPORATE BUSINESS has been racing well as of late and is coming off a 2nd place finish. He draws well and will be pointed forward off the gate, and should be given every opportunity here. (1) WICKED EXPRESS was a runner up finisher in his latest, giving him four 2nd place finishes in 5 lifetime tries. He draws well and can be right there towards the end as well. (7) SEA LIFE HANOVER finished 5th in his first start over the big track. He can land on the ticket. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (5) LIL SWEET will be making her sophomore debut and will now be racing for new connections after being sold at the Harrisburg mixed sale. She will now be racing in the Susan Kerwood barn and is entering this off two good qualifiers. The Super Final winner at two draws well and should be pointed forward by Doug McNair, and she’ll be given every opportunity. (7) GREEN GLIDER was never given a chance in her most recent in what was her first start of her 3YO campaign, coupled with the fact she had pp9. She flashed good speed late in the mile, uncorked a sub-27 final quarter, and we could see a much more aggressive approach now that she has a start under her belt; contender. (3) STORMONT BEAUTIFUL came first up as the overwhelming chalk in her latest and towed in a rival who was coming off a pair of sharp preps. She will be taking on gold fillies after competing in the Harvest Series last year, and it remains to be seen how deep she can be when facing stiffer company; let’s see! (1) EXQUISITE TASTE has is a perfect 3-3 to start off her sophomore campaign after failing to reach the winner’s circle in 11 tries as a rookie. She’s sharp but this will be her toughest task to date.  Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $18,750) LIFETIME. (4) SUGAR PIE HONEY will be making her sophomore debut here and is coming off a pair of sharp qualifiers in preparation for it. She flashed good late speed in both those efforts and was under tight lines to driver James MacDonald. She draws well and looks poised to get her picture taken here. (9) FUNNY BUSINESS hasn’t hit the board in 3 starts this year, but has flashed good speed late in the mile in a couple of those efforts. She draws from pp9 which’ll likely put her at a disadvantage, but will now be under the care of the circuit’s leading trainer, Dave Menary, which provides some intrigue here. (10) CALL YOU UP is coming off a lone qualifier as she gears up for her sophomore debut. Her qualifying line might not look appealing, but it was a good showing in that morning prep, where she looked like she had a lot of pace throughout. She loses her regular pilot because he owns one in this contest, and will pick up the services of Tyler Jones. I’d rate her higher if she didn’t draw the far outside. (6) LADY GAMBLER is coming off an easy score. She was confidently handled and won rather easily, fending off a few challengers. She steps up in class and she can grab a share here. Race 5 : 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (3) SILKY CHOICE is coming off a 4th place effort in his sophomore debut. He drew pp10 in that contest and rallied nicely off the pace to grab a share. He draws much better, has a start under his belt, and should be ready for an even better showing here; top call. (2) NOVA BLU was a runner up after towing up a strong winner in his latest. He draws inside and seems to be inching closer to a victory; contender. (6) MISTY COVE got away cleanly without any gate issues in his latest. He still took some time to get into gear and was 4th in that try. He has flashed talent in both of his qualifying efforts, but we’ve yet to see it translate to the racetrack just yet. (1) FREIGHT DAYS AWEEK hit the board in his latest and should be capable of doing the same in this spot; draws well. Race 6: SBOA ELIMINATION: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLY TROT. (5) MONALISHI will be making her sophomore debut after a very strong rookie campaign, which saw her take home O’Brien Award honors. She is coming off three qualifiers in preparation for this outing and the most recent prep saw her trot a mile in :54 4/5, indicating she’s ready to rock here at first asking, and will be tough to beat if she’s at her best. (2) SPRITE SEELSTER looked impressive in her first start last time, and couldn’t have asked for a better trip. She trotted very well in the lane and will have to bring another strong showing to take down the one above. (7) NOT PASSABLE broke her maiden impressive last time out in what was career start #1. She was locked in on the cones, but angled out late and burst through with good trot. These are some deep waters to step into this evening, but I’m very intrigued to see what this filly can put forth this evening. (4) NIGHTINGALE has hit the board in all three starts this year. She has shown good trot in each of those efforts and she should have every chance to close for a share this evening. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. (3) TRICKY WICKY is coming off a 3rd place effort where she was locked in the pocket with absolutely no room. She appeared to have plenty of pace in that contest and is one that I’ll give top honors to here, in hopes of a cleaner trip. (9) BARB LAHEY was aggressively handled in her sophomore debut and won easily. This filly showed promise after some strong qualifiers as a rookie, but things didn’t go exactly as planned in her race efforts. She should be brimming with confidence coming into this evening, and will have every opportunity to double up. (4) FOXY SEASIDE is coming off her first pari-mutuel start since 3/7. She added Lasix in that effort and just went around the track. She could be better for more here, we know she’s capable of a good showing. (8) OUTTATHISWORLD DEO got around the track cleanly in her sophomore debut, after failing to pace in her most recent qualifier. She could take another step forward, but I won’t pencil her in as a win candidate yet. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. (6) COVER BAND is coming off a 2nd place effort in his sophomore debut. He trotted well late in that affair, and should be poised for a trip to the winner’s circle now that he’s got a start under his belt. (7) RIGHT HERE HANOVER finished 2nd in his first start of 2025. He came first up and towed the eventual winner into the race. He has gate speed and could be the one to chase in this spot, if that’s the approach driver Bob McClure chooses to take this evening. (1) HP LUCAS went on a gate to wire mission and tired to be 3rd. He draws inside and can hit the board once again. (5) STORMONT CHEERIO was never a factor in his first start of 2025 from pp10. He draws the middle of the gate and I’d expect a more aggressive approach this evening.  Race 9: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). (1) LADYTERRA was a dominant winner in her latest. She will face the winner of the other Pop Up division in this contest but is one I’ll still side with to double up. (6) LADY GET LUCKY was aggressively handled in her latest and scored a nice victory. She draws well again and is one of the main contenders this evening. (3) ONE LAST BET is coming off a 3rd place effort. She is winless in 15 tries this year but has hit the board in 7 of them, and she can do the same here. (4) FIRSTOFANERA rounded out the superfecta in her latest and she can do the same here. Race 10: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $30,000 (OS $47,850) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (10) LIL SEBASTIAN was never a factor in his most recent try in a condition claimer at Flamboro Downs. He was claimed out of that contest and will now race for new trainer Pam Forgie, and will now be driven by Doug McNair. The draw is challenging, but I’ll give this guy a whirl here. (8) DIAMOND RYDER hasn’t hit the board in 5 of his last 6 tries. He will now be driven by driver Jody Jamieson, and we saw these connections team up for an upset score in the Monday night finale; using. (7) B SONNY was never a factor in his latest from pp10. He parked out to make the lead two starts back and drew away from his competition. He can rebound with a more favorable draw here. (5) STEELWHEEL HANOVER showed good wheels at the end of his mile in a winning effort last time out. He’ll need a similar set up to be a threat Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, NW $3,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $10,500 LAST 7 STARTS. (5) ONLYTHEGOODDIYOUNG didn’t have an easy trip in her latest when she was on the outside for most of that try. She still flashed a nice final quarter despite that, and hooks a much softer group there. She’ll be tough to fend off if she’s at her best, and is one I’ll give the nod to in this contest. (9) SHOOT THE WHISKEY plummets down the class ladder. She failed to hit the board in her latest, but this is the softest group she’s taken on in a long time, and she merits plenty of respect, even with an outside draw. (6) LOVE ON ME wasn’t much of a factor whatsoever, after showing good wheels at the end of her mile two back. She hooks a group that she should be more competitive with, and draws well. I’ll be using her on multi-leg tickets. (1) CHELSIS CHOICE was confidently handled in her latest from an outside draw at Flamboro Downs and scored in gate to wire fashion. She draws inside and she should be able to close for a piece. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 12: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). (2) CHEESE PARTY was a runner up finisher to a strong rival in her latest. She was moving well late and will need another set up in this spot. I’ll give her top honors here. (4) POWDER PLAY flashed some good speed in her last two tries. She is trending in the right direction and could be tough to fend off if she works out a good trip. (6) BETTER B DONNA N wasn’t much of a factor in her latest. She draws well and I could see her being forwardly placed in this contest. She can hang around for a share. (5) TRIBAL DANCER finished 4th in her latest. She can hit the ticket. Race 13: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $78,500 LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (9) D A CAPTAINOBVIOUS was stuck on the inside for most of the mile and took a shuffle towards the back as a result of that. He got out late in the mile but had too much ground and not enough time to catch the eventual winner. He flashed very good speed late in that mile when free and this is one that should be poised for a winning effort this evening. (5) BEACH COWBOY never looked comfortable in his latest, in what was a very poor effort. He should be able to be competitive in this class, and he shows up with Lasix this evening. I’ll toss that last line and slow him underneath; draws well. (3) PHONE NINE ONE ONE tripped out to a nice score at this level last time out. He draws inside and will be looking for another set up here.(8) ROCHESTER FLASH picked up a catch driver on a driver change and it resulted in a very strong, 2nd place effort at odds of 48/1. He can take a step forward here and grab another piece. (6) JIMMY WHISPERS failed to hit the board in his latest but drew outside in that contest. He can grab a share with a better draw here.
