Top Pick Stats: 256 - 791 / $1298.10 (-$283.90) Best Bets: 44 - 74 / $146.10 (-$1.90) Spot Plays: 11 - 72 / $65.40 (-$78.20) Best Bet: DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN (11TH) Spot Play: WE BELIEVIN (2ND) Early Pick 5: 3,7,8/8/5,6,7/1,4,10/4,7,8 = $16.20 Late Pick 5: 1,2,8,9/8/3,5/2,3/2,4,6 = $9.60 Early Pick 4: 1,4,10/4,7,8/1,2,8,9/8 = $7.20 Late Pick 4: 2,3/2,4,6/6/1,6,7,8 = $4.80 Race 1:  4YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (7) BET ON SUNSHINE was trying to close into a 27 1/5 final 1/4 last time and that wasn’t going to work when he was sitting sixth. He fits well here in what appears to be an easier field and he gets the nod to kick off the early Pick 5. (8) IM A CAPTAIN made a couple of moves in that same race and he finished slightly ahead of the choice. His speed should play well here; using. (3) LOU GRANT took a lot of money last week, but he edited himself out of the story when he broke at the start. He gets a chance to do a rewrite tonight and he showed he is good enough to contend here with the big back half he paced in his May 3rd qualifier. (1) DAB OCOLOR has been 3rd three times in a row off various trips. I’ll use him underneath here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES (8) WE BELIEVIN had a bit of a rough ride on the final turn last time with a rival breaking right in front of her. She finished with a lot of pace, and she gets top billing here coming off what should be a perfect tightener for this Grassroots start. (2) THINK AHEAD jogged at 3 to 5 in London and she showed she belongs here in early April. She will likely be the one to catch here. (9) ACEFORTYFOUR BELLA paced by far the fastest mile of her life last week and she can close for another share here. (6) DISTANT LOVER couldn’t get the job done at five cents to the dollar at Flamboro. I’ll use her on the bottom here. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED HANDICAP. PP# 1-4 DRAWN PP# 5-7 DRAWN (7) SYLVIA HANOVER looked like a mare that needed a start last week and she was really motoring when the wire hit. She can get the job done here if she gets put into action earlier in the race. (6) PROHIBITION LEGAL was blocked in her seasonal debut then she showed what she can do with clear sailing last week when she beat most of these. She figures to be a threat right back. (5) SILVER LABEL got outsprinted by her stablemate last week, but she is always a threat for at least a good share. (3) SO MUCH MORE should be able to get a share here starting from the inside. Race 4: 3YO colts and geldings NW $5,000 LT - Pick 4 (10) WALLACE HARTLEY tried to re-rally after taking a mid race shuffle last week and he was forced to alter course in the lane. Once he found room, he flew late, and I’ll give him top billing here despite drawing wide. (4) BARSTOOL MOUNTAIN was part of a very busy opening 1/2 in that same race and he did well to stick around for a share in a race dominated by closers. He is the other one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (1) DEUCE HANOVER’s debut was decent, and he is worth a look here being sent out by trainer Steacy. (5) ALWAYS B MELMAN tried to leave in that same race but several had the same idea. I can see him sitting a trip racing close to the front here and staying for a share.   Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES (7) CHEESE PARTY was a good sires stakes performer last year and she gives the feel that she has been racing to get sharp for these events. I’ll give her the nod here hoping for a good price based on recent results. (8) COLLUSION HANOVER won one of these Grassroots races in her second start last year and she is another that looks primed for a top effort; using. (4) TRIBAL DANCER is another that did well at this level last year. Her first 2024 start was a dud, but she requalified well, and she is in the mix here. (3) P L RINCHENIA comes of a couple of good efforts vs. maidens. She can take a small share here. Race 6: NW $2,000 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 - Pick 5 In a race with no standout, I’ll take a shot with (8) CADILLAC racing off the Lester claim tonight. (1) MISTER MAGIC was a winner at this level two starts back and he should be right there if he stays trotting tonight. (2) WHAT AN ANGEL was 3rd to Mister Magic but that was a much-improved effort, and she is another that can win here. (9) COOL CLIFFORD blasted and almost lasted when he raced at this level on 3/30. He is in the exotics mix. Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES (8) RESILIENCE showed she is ready for her sophomore debut by pacing a 25 4/5 kicker in her May 10th qualifier. I’ll side with her here thinking I might get a bit of an overlay because of the presence of streaking (4) THIS MAGIC MOMENT, who is 3 for 3 this year and has looked impressive. (7) PASTA DELIGHT shows two very good efforts in 2024 and she could trip out and pass them all late; using. (9) ANN exits some fast SBOA races, but this is no easy spot starting from the widest post; small share predicted. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES (3) GREATEST PLEASURE won a Grassroots semi-final last fall and her most recent start suggests that she is ready to fire a big effort in this initial sires stake start of 2024; top call. (5) BONITAS BEST BET dropped from 110 to 1 to 2 to 1 last week when in much easier and she converted. She should be a threat here. (2) ONTOP RAINSTORM came ready to fire a life’s best effort in her sophomore debut, but this is tougher and I’m no sure she gets the same dreamy trip; using underneath. (6) WEDNESDAY ships in from The Maritimes and goes for Team Cullen and she looks good enough to get a share here. Race 9: 5YO and younger winners of 2 (F&M3) but not more than 4 (F&M5) or $45,000 LT - Pick 4 (2) PRIVATE ACCESS was finishing 4th to Karl in the Breeders Crown when last seen and he starts what is likely an ambitious sophomore campaign here. This is a field he should beat if he is raced with intent. (3) MASS MARKET produced a nice late rally last week and he is probably coming up to a winning effort soon. He is the other one that I’ll use on late multi-race tickets. (4) MASS HYSTERIA continues to race well, and he will likely set the pace and stay for a share again. (1) P L QUINELLA moves inside, and he can get a trip and land in the exotics here. Race 10: F&M winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $57,500 LT (4) PASS AND STOW gets post advantage on the other stakes types in here and she is a big threat to go right down the road. (6) STONEBRIDGE HALO came out firing in her sophomore debut and she can get a good trip racing near the front here; using. I like the way (2) REIGNING JADE roared past her rivals in the lane last week. This is tougher, but she isn’t without a chance. (8) ELODIE HANOVER obviously has the speed and talent to contend here but there are much bigger dances on her card, and I imagine she will get a conservative drive starting from a wide post tonight; using underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: F&M NW $15,000 L5 or $27,000 L10 AE: NW $15,000 in 2024 (Min. 3 starts) This is a field that (6) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN is supposed to beat on the class drop, plain and simple. (4) FLIGHT CREW N was game in defeat last time and she can be an Exacta factor right back. (3) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL has been doing well with Ratchford in the bike and she will be passing rivals late again; using underneath. (1) SNOW SHARK is another that will likely pass a few of these late and land in the bottom of the Tri or Super. Race 12: NW $4,100 L5 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 AE: N/A $1,530 P/S in 2023/24 (1) BELLA CAVALLA was good here last year and maybe the return home combined with a good qualifier will see her get back to her best form tonight; top call. (6) EPIC DREAMER steps up off the Demers claim but he keeps Macdonald and draws best. He is sharp and dangerous. (8) GIGONDAS got a clean line in, and he drops now so McNair will likely be blasting with him. He is another possibility in a good betting race. (7) PHEONIX raced okay on the class drop Monday night now he gets to drop another class level. He too is in the mix here. (3) FIVE FISH SPECIES improved in his second start back and he can sit a trip and take another slice here.
