Top Pick Stats: 115/384 = -$78.60 Best Bets: 12/38 = –$19.20;  Spot Plays: 7/38 = -$10.70 Best Bet: LADYTERRA (Race 11) Spot Play: CONTROL ROCKS (Race 7) Early Pick 5: 2,4,6,9/4/2/2,3,4/8,10 = $4.80 Mid Pick 5: 5,7/7/1,5,8/8/3,4,7,8 = $4.80 Late Pick 5: 1,5,8/8/3,4,7,8/6/4,5,8 = $7.20 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $29,850) LIFETIME. (4) LMC WAGON WHEEL is coming off a 2nd place effort to a wrapped up winner in his sophomore debut. He draws much better coming into this contest and should be able to work out a favourable trip; top call. (2) COVER BAND will make his sophomore debut after a two-year-old campaign that saw it get cut short due to injury. He has a pair of qualifiers in Florida to prepare for this contest and will be tough to fend off if he’s within striking distance late. (6) LOOKATMEGOAMIGO is coming off a trio of qualifiers as he gears up for his sophomore season. They were just average efforts, but this is a colt who took on stakes company during his rookie campaign and should be able to compete with this group if he’s up to speed. (9) KADDIDLE was motoring home in the late stages of the mile to be 5th. She draws outside and will likely be up against it early, and she’ll need things to develop in her favor. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (4) BLUE PACIFIC is coming off a trio of 2nd place finishes to her stable mate who has rattled off six straight victories. This mare was first up a long way and was toe to toe with the eventual winner, and was super game in defeat. I’m hoping she employs similar tactics, and I’ll give her the nod to find the winner’s circle this evening. (3) CENTURY JAMILA is the sharpest mare on this circuit, rattling off six straight victories. She will lose her regular pilot to another rival, but picks up Bob McClure, and she’ll be given every chance. (5) ODDS ON PLATINUM will make her 4YO debut here off a pair of qualifying efforts in Florida. She was Louis-Philippe Roy’s choice over the one above, but hooks a very sharp group to kick off her aged career. (6) LYONS BETTORDAY worked out a nice trip and paced home hard throughout the wire. She was able to pick up a 3rd in that contest and is one that seems to get sharp with every start. Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $29,850) LIFETIME. (2) GETTHEGREEN broke his maiden in dominant fashion during his sophomore debut. He steps up in this nw2 class but should have every opportunity to double up, and will be tough to beat if he replicates a similar effort. (4) GASLIGHT HALL was bet down as the 1/2 choice, but jumped approaching the first turn. He recovered to be a good 2nd in that contest but violated the breaking rule and was placed 6th. He likely would’ve been a winner in that contest if not for the miscue and is one that should be sitting on a good effort, so long as he behaves. (6) RIGHT HERE HANOVER will make his 3YO debut off a pair of qualifiers at Rideau. Claude Gaudieux trainer and drove him in those outings and now Bob McClure will pick up the lines. He draws well and could pick up a good share here. (3) FIRST CLASS RULE made a miscue off the gate in his 3YO debut. He entered that contest off a strong, runner-up qualifying effort and he can pick up a share so long as he trots. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. (4) AARDIES MONEY N was unable to push away from the rail in her latest and got away last off the car. She tipped wide late and was airborne late in the mile, pacing a wicked fast back-half, and was the livest horse in that affair. She should be even better in her second start, but there’s still a chance that she won’t be able to be situated early, and that’s something to be wary of. (3) SPOILED BEAUTY disappointed as the choice in her latest and she never quite looked comfortable turning for home. She won her 3YO debut rather easily and is one that you might be able to forgive off her most recent try. (2) FOXY SEASIDE was putting together some strong efforts before taking a bit of a break. She comes into this race off a lone qualifying try where she made a miscue in that contest, and now adds Lasix. She is capable of a strong showing this evening. (9) LADY CAFE AU LAIT was a runner-up finisher over her last two tries. She was game in defeat and should have every chance at a good piece here. Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (8) ZANDER angled out late in the stretch and ran out of racetrack in losing to a confidently handled winner. He has been 2nd in both tries to start his 3YO campaign, and is inching closer to career victory number one; I think he gets it here. (10) SILKY CHOICE raced twice as a rookie and then we never saw him again after those tries. He comes off a runner up qualifying try where he was pacing hard late. He’ll have to overcome pp10 but can be competitive with a trip. (4) ALL ABOUT ART was moving really well late at Flamboro in his most recent. He gets to try the big track where he didn’t have much success over the bigger track as a rookie, but that effort was sharp enough to give consideration to. (7) FREIGHT DAYS AWEEK worked out a tough trip in his rookie campaign and he can grab a share. Race 6: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). (5) LADY GET LUCKY was aggressively handled in her latest and worked out a pocket trip before making an uncharacteristic break. She drops down to this Pop Up Series here and should be the one to take down, especially with her draw. (7) CHEESE PARTY was in vs tougher last time out and failed to hit the board, but appeared to have pace. She has been racing well and will have every opportunity to take down the choice late. (4) REDLANDBETHANYJEAN wasn’t much of a factor in the Preferred at London. She draws well here and will be given every chance to hit the ticket. (2) FIRSTOFANERA hasn’t hit the board in three straight tries but should have every chance to grab a share. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (7) CONTROL ROCKS will be making his 3YO debut off a rookie campaign that saw him race just once. He is coming off a long qualifier where he bottled up behind a rival and showed some good pace when driver Billy Davis Jr. angled him out. I’ll give in the nod to get the job done this evening. (9) PAC MAN  HANOVER will make his 3YO debut off a pair of qualifiers. He took on some talented colts in his most recent prep and should have every chance at grabbing a big piece despite an outside draw. (4) HELLO DARKNESS is coming off a pair of 3rd place efforts to kick start his career. He draws well, will take support, and should be able to hit the ticket again. (5) CORPORATE BUSINESS took a bit of a shuffle and showed some interest late when shaking loose. He draws well and is in with a chance with the right trip. Race 8:  FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $18,750) LIFETIME. (1) FOREVERAFTERALL never left the tail in her latest victory, and flashed some good late pace in the process. She steps up in class and will pick up the services of James MacDonald, who guided her to a 2nd place finish in her first start of 2025; top call.  (5) SOMETHING IN BLUE broke her maiden in her latest in what was a game effort. She can take a step forward despite stepping up. (8) CENTURY LUNAR comes off a solid 3rd place effort. She draws outside but is handy enough to get involved, and is one that is capable of a strong showing here. (7) DARLENES ANGEL was taking on Gold company as a rookie and she only found the winners circle once in 10 tries. She is coming off a qualifier which saw her take on fillies that are a step above her and she should fit right in vs this group. Race 9: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $29,850) LIFETIME. (8) ARTFUL DODGER absolutely crushed his rivals in his first start as a 3YO. He took on a group of maidens in that outing and should be brimming with confidence, as he steps up in class. He should be tough to beat off that showing. (2) RITCHIE RICH is coming off consecutive victories and showed improvement in each of them. He’s shown good trot in most of his starts and is a contender in this spot; he’s sharp. (7) IVY LYNN took a step forward after a disappointed 3YO debut. She drew poorly but still managed to show some good trot late in that mile. She’s sitting on a good effort, but it’s a tough asking evening. (1) CABALLERO might be the most talented trotter in this field if he puts it together. He was rolling along nicely and faded to 6th in his first start of 2025, and might have better luck off a helmet here. First things first, he’ll have to stay to task! Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $16,500 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $32,250 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: NW $110,000 LIFETIME. (3) ANGOSTURA HANOVER was my spot play last week, and she was unable to get involved from an outside draw. She draws inside and it should be all systems go from here. (8) SETTN A PREFEDENT left hard last week and was shuffled. She angled out late in stretch and showed good pace while Fred. She draws outside but should be competitive here, and will offer up a bit of game because of where she’s lining up. (7) GLENBORO was 2nd vs this group last week and she will be in the mix early yet again. (4) GRIT N GRACE was a winner at this level last time out. She draws well and merits respect. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). LEG 1. (6) LADYTERRA is shipping in from the B-tracks off some really sharp efforts for this Pop Up Series. She will pick up Bob McClure, who had his choice of another rival and I’ll give her the nod here. (2) POWDER PLAY was moving very well in the late stages of the mile in her most recent try. She will be a main threat if she can replicate a similar effort, but she hasn’t been racing all that well in the starts prior; let’s see. (5) TRIBAL DANCER was locked in the pocket and begging for room in her most recent. She was a good 2nd and had a bad trip. She draws well and should be sent forward here. (3) BETTER BE DONNA N didn’t have much pop late despite a good trip. She is capable of a good effort when at her best, and will be given every chance to hit the ticket. Race 12: FILLIES & MARES, WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 RACES OR $87,500 (OS $100,000) LIFETIME. (8) ABSOLUTION flashed some wicked speed late in the mile to be a very strong 2nd. She was off one month prior to that effort and notched a pair of victories before the missed time. She is taking on a talented group of 3YO fillies, who will be making their sophomore debuts this evening, most of whom will have bigger engagements next week. I’ll give her the nod here. (5) MISS DUTTON was never in contention after drawing 9 and 10 holes in her last two outings. She draws the middle of the gate and should be in contention form the word go, making her a threat. (4) WICKEDPACE comes off a very strong rookie campaign which saw her be a runner-up for an O’Brien Award. She draws well and is coming off a pair of shape qualifiers, and will likely be in contention early. (3) LOVE ON ME showed some good pace late in the mile and will have every opportunity to hit the ticket here. (7) PERFECTLY CHIC is making her 3YO debut off a pair of good qualifiers. She will likely be gearing up for the SBOA slim next week and is one that can hit the ticket late.
