Top Pick Stats: 115/384 = -$78.60 Best Bets: 12/38 = –$19.20; Spot Plays: 7/38 = -$10.70 Best Bet: FRENCH VODKA (Race 4) Spot Play: GENTRIFY (Race 3) Early Pick 5: 1,8/1,6,7/1/2/4,6,8,9 = $4.80 Late Pick 5: 1,3,7/1,3,8/1,4,8/7/4 = $5.40 Race 1: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW 2 RACES OR $18,000 (ON SIRED $29,250) LIFETIME. (1) ALWAYS DAWN will be making her 3YO debut off a pair of qualifiers. She was moving very well at the end of her mile during her most recent prep, under tight lines to driver James MacDonald, and could prove tough to fend off here this evening with the right trip. (8) SPOILED BEAUTY was trapped behind rivals and flashed some good speed late when shaking loose. She could be sitting on a good effort off that try and merits plenty of respect  (2) CHARLOTTE STATION made a couple of moves in her 2025 debut, en route to an easy, maiden-breaking score. She should be full of confidence and can double up here this evening. (7) SOMETHING IN BLUE has reeled off back-to-back wins to kick off her 3YO campaign. She’s confident and merits respect. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,700 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (6) TORQUE DELIGHT got away towards the back of the pack in his latest but paced home nicely to be 5th in that effort. He draws the middle of the gate once again, but he might be better situated off the car this time around now that driver Bob McClure has a start to become familiar with him; top call. (7) MAGICAL BET just got up for 4th in his latest. He took a step forward from his recent efforts and can continue to trend in the right direction this evening. (1) SEA LIFE HANOVER was 3rd beaten a head in his latest in what was a very solid effort. He draws inside but should be among the main contenders in this group. (8) HELLO DARKNESS has hit the board in 2 of 3 starts in 2025. He can grab a share here. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $55,000 (OS $95,000) LIFETIME. (1) GENTRIFY is making her 2025 debut off a pair of qualifiers. She had no chance in her most recent taking on some very strong company, but still paced well in the lane despite the margin she lost by. She looked very good in her first qualifier and is one that could take a further step forward this evening; top call. (4) COCCO PUFF POWER wasn’t much of a factor in her latest taking on tougher company. She should find this group more to her liking and is one that is capable of a stronger showing here. (3) LOVE ON ME is coming off a 3rd place effort in her latest. She’s been moving well late in the mile over her last few tries and is one that can grab a good piece late once again. (7) ONLYTHEGOODDIYOUNG was never able to get involved and was moving okay in the late stages of the mile to grab a share. She will need a lot to go her way to find the winner’s circle, but should have every chance to secure a share. Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. (2) FRENCH VODKA is coming off a good 4th place effort in his 3YO debut. He had pp10 in that contest and angled off the cones late in the stretch, but flashed some good trot in that contest. He draws much better and should be much more of a factor with a start under his belt this evening. (8) COVER BAND disappointed as the heavy favorite in his latest in a 2nd place effort. He was drifting wide in the lane and was picked off by a sharp rival who was good in winning. He will be making his 3rd start of 2025 and is one that could be sitting on an improved effort here; he merits respect. (9) RITCHIE RICH has been no worse than 2nd over his last 4 tries, which includes a pair of victories. He draws outside, but that shouldn’t be an issue given he’s shown he has the gate speed to overcome the draw. He’s sharp and he’s a contender here. (7) ZORGWJIK VENTURA will be making his 4th start of 2025 and is coming off a qualifier which saw him moving very well late. He can close late for a share. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,000 LAST 5 OR NW $24,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (4) MS QUICK SAND wasn’t much of a factor in her latest try but was sneaky good two starts back. She gets the vote of confidence from driver James MacDonald, who had his choice over a pair of others in this contest, and is one I’ll give top billing to in this contest. (8) SHES GOT IT ALL hasn’t been much of a factor over her last few tries, but hooks a group she should be more competitive with this evening. I think she’s a must-use on multi-race tickets. (6) WESTERN WISH was no match for a dominant winner last time out. She draws great this evening and is one that could be aggressively handled early, and be primed for a good effort using. (9) COZ IM SPECIAL will be making her first start in a few weeks, after being a sick-scratch on 5/3. She has been sharp and can pick up where she left off if she’s feeling good. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,700 LIFETIME. (1) SILKY CHOICE was conservatively handled in his latest as the choice, but put forth a strong showing late to be 3rd. He will be making his 3rd start of 2025, and he could be sitting on a more aggressive approach this evening off that effort. (7) NOVA BLU followed the eventual winner in his latest and was a strong 2nd in that effort. He has been a runner-up in 3 of his 4 tries this year and seems to be inching closer to a trip to the winner’s circle. (3) SHADOW OF AN ANGEL never hit the board but was moving okay in his lifetime debut. He could take a step forward in his second start and is one to monitor. (6) CONTROL ROCKS was one I pegged on top in both of his starts, but is one that disappointed as the chalk in his latest despite a perfect trip. He has been running in a little bit in both of those efforts, but is tough to back with confidence this evening given the trip he worked out in his latest; he can grab a piece. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $16,000 (ON SIRED $18,750) LIFETIME. (8) AQUINAS HANOVER will be making his 3rd start of 2025 and his 2nd here at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Trainer Justin Turcotte was aboard him last week in a 6th place effort, pacing a quick back-half. He will hand the lines over to Bob McClure, who had his choice over another contender in this contest, and we’ll give him top billing. He’s not the cleanest gaited and might be up against it from where he gets situated, but he seems faster than this group. (1) MISTY COVE was aggressively handled in his latest and responded with a nice score. He can take a step forward and put forth another good showing, but will have to navigate from the rail; using. (3) MOVING ON OVER is coming off a 3rd place effort in the Ontario Sired Spring Series Final. He draws well and will be likely looking for a target to chase, and could be a threat late if he’s at his best. (4) CAPTAIN HURLEY wasn’t a factor whatsoever from pp9 in his latest. He draws much better and could be more engaged early on this evening. Race 8: NW $3,800 LAST 5 STARTS. (8) TARGET PRACTICE will be making his first start in over a month, and will now be racing for new trainer Dagfin Henriksen. He comes over from tries at Dover Downs, and has failed to hit the board 8 tries this year. Bob McClure picks up the lines and I’ll give this guy a whirl and hope the change of scenery helps, especially in a field where I don’t have a strong feel for everyone. (4) BUCK DANCER jumped it off early and disappointed as the choice. He will now be driven by Tyler Borth, who has had success driving him. (1) MADE OF MAGIC wasn’t a factor whatsoever and didn’t look particularly good in his latest. He hooks a much softer group and he might be able to find his footing here. (2) THE CANAM BANKER was put on the engine in his latest and tired off some quick panels early. He might be better suited with a target to chase here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED. (7) ITS A LOVE THING will be making her 2025 debut and is coming off a very, very strong qualifying effort. She was a runner up to a strong stable mate and looked engaged throughout. She looks primed for a very strong showing here and is the clear choice. (6) CAVIAR N CRACKERS has been sharp in winning three in a row. She will look to get a big piece late in the mile, but will have to find even more to overtake the choice. (1) CENTURY JAMILA got picked off by the one above. She’s been razor sharp but is likely racing for place this evening. (2) ANGOSTURA HANOVER was solid in her latest despite a 6th place finish. She can grab a share. Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: FILLIES & MARES NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). (4) LADYTERRA will be looking for a sweep of this Pop Up Series after strong victories in the first two legs, and will be tough to deny the sweep. (7) LADY GET LUCKY was a runner up to the choice in her latest. She’s a contender but will need to find more. (3) CHEESE PARTY tripped out in her latest victory to score. She will have speed to chase in this affair but will need to find a little extra to pull off the upset. (2) TRIBAL DANCER has rounded out the superfecta over her last couple of tries. She can do the same here. (9) ONE LAST BET is winless in 16 tries this year but should have every chance at landing somewhere on the Hi 5.
