Top Pick Stats: 198 - 620 / $971.80 (-$268.20) Best Bets: 33 - 58 / $100.40 (-$15.60) Spot Plays: 8 - 57 / $35.10 (-$79.90) Best Bet: THIS MAGIC MOMENT (1ST) Spot Play: CHEESE PARTY (9TH) Early Pick 5: 3/2,5/4,6,8/5,6,7,8/6,8 = $9.60 Late Pick 5: 3,6/1,3,8/1,3,5/5,7/8,9 = $14.40 Early Pick 4: 5,6,7,8/6,8/3,6/1,3,8 = $9.60 Late Pick 4: 1,3,5/5,7/8,9/5,6,10 = $7.20 Race 1: F&M 4YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (3) THIS MAGIC MOMENT raced twice at two, both times getting beaten 2 1/2 lengths in OSS Gold races. She looks geared up for her sophomore debut and this is a good spot for her return. She should break her maiden tonight. (1) P L RINCHENIA paced a good sophomore debut mile, but she had no answer for the 1 to 9 chalk. She should be an Exacta factor right back. (4) ACEFORTYFOUR BELLA flew late to get a share in that same race, and she should be closing late again to land in the Tri. (9) JACINDA is always around the money. She is a good one to use underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CANADIAN SIRED GRADUATE SERIES TROT: CANADIAN SIRED 4 YEAR OLDS. 3RD LEG (5) OSCEOLA was kept in reserve until the lane in his 2024 debut and he produced a nice closing effort. He does his best work racing on or near the front and I expect him to get more aggressive now. I’ll call him to upset the likely favorite (2) GHOSTLY CASPER who has looked great winning his two starts as a four-year-old. (3) HASTY BID is another that paced a big back 1/2 in his 2024 debut. He could end up being a victim of pace and trip in this short field. I’ll use him underneath. (4) PASSARINO raced better last week. He can take another small share here. Race 3: 4YO and younger NW $15,000 LT (4) BETTHEBEACH YANKEE has fired home quickly in both starts this year and Jones was more aggressive with him last week and it paid off. He is sharp as a tack, and he gets the call to repeat. (6) BOLD SPIRIT showed some promise at two, he qualified well, and he draws best here. He is an obvious threat. (8) FAST LOUIE was ready for his debut at two, impressively taking a 1:54-flat mark at first asking. He looks ready here, too, and he could get overlooked at the windows. He will be on my early Pick 5 ticket.  It’s hard to overlook (7) BRUDON’s runaway 1:53 3/5 qualifying win in the slop, but I’m not sure he can bottom out this field. I’d be careful to not take too short of a price here. Race 4: F&M NW $4,050 L5 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 AE: 4YO NW $2,100 L3 - Pick 4 This is a good spot for class dropper (7) JM BETONSIX, and she will likely get pointed to the front leaving the gate facing easier in this spot; top call. (5) COZ IM SPECIAL is the other dropper that is likely to improve here. I could see her getting a pocket trip and converting; using. (8) TWIN B TIPSTER fits well at this level but her typical racing style often makes her a victim of trip and pace. I’ll use her underneath starting from a wide draw. (6) GIMMIE A CORONA is better than she showed in her last start. A typical effort from her should land her a share here. Race 5: F&M NW $17,250 L5 AE: NW1 in 2024 AE: NW $28,500 L5 to draw outside Dropper (8) WESTERN WISH will likely leave like a rocket to secure the lead which could end up netting her a great pocket ride if one moves on her in the second 1/4. She is in with a good chance vs. these. (6) GOUDAWON was racing great when last seen here in the fall and she looks ready for battle based on her two solid qualifiers at Flamboro; using. (9) GIAS SURREAL is another dropper that should be in play here. Her race against white hot Tells On A Roll last week was decent, and these are easier. (7) SETTN A PRECEDENT is sharp but facing tougher. A small share is likely for her this time. Race 6: F&M NW $8,000 L5 or $15,000 L10 or NW $82,500 LT AE: OPT CLM $50,000 - Pick 5 (6) GLENBORO draws perfectly to work out another good trip here and I’ll give her the nod to repeat. (3) SAULSBROOK OLYMPIA fires home quickly every week and she gets McClure in the bike tonight; price look for multi-race tickets. (8) ETHEL raced well again last week when beaten by the choice. You have to wonder how many of those kinds of miles she can go. Does she revert to a closing style tonight? (10) LADYTERRA would be rated higher on the class drop if she didn’t draw worst. Race 7: NW $20,000 in 2023/24 or N/A $1,155 per start in 2023/24 (8) E R NORMA has been terrific racing at this level, and she looks solid to take a third straight win here. This is an easier class for (1) CADILLAC and he should get positioned near the front leaving the gate. He should be the main threat to the choice. (3) ZIP ME UP closed some ground late to finish 3rd behind the choice last time. Moving inside should facilitate a better trip where she lays closer to the front. She is another in with a chance. (9) GIVE ME KARETS K adds Lasix and he qualified nicely for this, but I prefer to use him underneath here starting from a wide post. Race 8: CANADIAN SIRED GRADUATE SERIES PACE: CANADIAN SIRED 4 YEAR OLD MARES 3RD LEG - Pick 4 (5) TALK CURDY TO ME gets better results when she is in chase mode, and I expect Macdonald to deploy those tactics here and turn the tables on (3) POWDER PLAY. The latter was perfectly tripped out by Jamieson to get the measure of the choice last week and she is obviously sharp and dangerous. (1) MIST AMBER is capable with the right trip and Henry might be able to work it out tonight starting from the rail; price look for late multi-race tickets. (2) LADY GET LUCKY, first up last week, will likely find an easier trip tonight and stick around for a share. Race 9: F&M 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (5) CHEESE PARTY paced a sneaky good mile in her sophomore debut, coming her own back 1/2 in 53 2/5. Now that the carbon is out of her engine, I think she gets positioned closer to the front tonight and I’ll call her to score an upset. (7) DISTANT LOVER is the one to beat, having thrown a scare into an unbeaten filly in that same race and finishing while well clear of the top choice in this race. (8) SORCHA SEELSTER met a field of maidens that she laid over last week and she dominated. This is tougher but she is in with a chance. (1) WICKED WEATHER was Grand Circuit placed at two and she should be in the exotics mix in this sophomore debut. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW $2,350 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 (9) MISTER MAGIC fires back quickly after being unplaced vs. better on Monday night. This is a better spot for him, and he gets top billing. (8) R ROYAL PORT beat better than these in February. He will likely get put into this race leaving the gets considering his class drop tonight. (3) MUNK garnered a lot of attention last week, but the trip didn’t work out. He should be part of the exotics again. (1) C S GOLDPOLICY is another dropper that figures to improve enough to take a share here. Race 11: F&M that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L4 AE: OPT CLM $18,000 AE: 4YO NW $1,700 L3 or NW $100 in 2024 (Minimum 3 starts) This is a good spot for (5) DUCHENNE, and she has a big shot to drop and pop vs. these. (6) ZEBS BREAKING DAWN switched trainers back to Rogers last week and she found a 53 2/5 back 1/2 to get past a loose leader in the lane. She won’t be 63 to 1 again and she could double up here starting from the best post. (10) SWEET LOVING seemed a bit headstrong last week, so Henry just let her roll and she almost got the job done. She should be a threat right back despite drawing widest. (2) LITTLEBEARCAT never got going at even money chasing Sweet Lovin who was carving out wicked fractions. She is capable of better, and she can take a share here. (7) TAKEYOURBREATHAWAY was better last week. She can land in the bottom of the exotics again vs. these.
