Top Pick Stats: 186/618 (-$306.80) Best Bets: 25/56 (-$13.70); Spot Plays: 15/58 (-$29.80) Best Bet: FRENCHY HANOVER (Race 6) Spot Play: WHOLETTHEDOGSOUT (Race 4) Early Pick-5: 1,2,9/2/2,8/7/5,7   $2.40 Late Pick-5: 4/2,4/8/2,6/5,6,7,8   $3.20 Race 1: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (9) PEARL WASH looks like a filly with some upside, though I recognize I could be falling into the trap of taking a new face by default. Regardless, she should offer some decent value up top. (1) CENTURY MONTANA could end up pacing this bunch off their feet, but that hasn’t been the case in her last two efforts after getting away up front. (2) COPETOWN COWGIRL didn’t show much punch in her seasonal debut but was mired at the back. I can see her stepping forward tonight and getting a piece. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES TROT: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 2. (2) ELBOWS UP was a strong winner in her division last week. Once she cleared to the lead, nobody was going to catch her. She draws the weaker of the two divisions in my opinion. (6) PRESS ON BALLYKEEL lacked room for a majority of the stretch, but showed some trot when splitting horses in the final sixteenth. I can see her leaving out and finishing strong. (3) FEEL LIKE A WOMAN was closing ground in the late stages and should be able to get a piece no matter where she gets away. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $51,000 (OS $79,500) LIFETIME. (2) HP JOSEPHINE made a strong first-over bid last week, but had to settle for second behind the mare who she towed right into contention. She battled very well to hold second. (8) MORE THAN A WOMAN got that perfect setup behind HP Josephine and pulled off the upset. She draws wide, but a similar trip could see her right there again at a square number. (6) TORNADO RAIN was less than a length behind at the wire, but I thought she hung just a touch in the final sixteenth. She has been consistent, but I don’t expect her to win without a setup. Race 4: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (7) WHOLETTHEDOGSOUT produced a big upset in his career debut, but was only seen once after that in his freshman season. I’ll take a swing off the bench after just one qualifier against a couple of decent horses. (2) AMICABLE will need to take a step forward on debut, but it’s hard to expect anything else from top connections. (8) WE GOT HISTORY is not the best gaited horse in the world, but he has the early speed to get himself in the mix once again. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $39,500) LIFETIME. (5) HORSE WITH A PLAN caught the eye of many around the final turn, and despite having to halt her move behind cover, she tipped off and rallied well in her first start back. Post relief is key for a likely step forward. (7) FITNESS FIRST was bet down fairly hard in her seasonal debut, and she cruised after getting to the lead. McNair goes her direction over a Menary trainee. Look for her to produce another strong effort. (10) WHOA BLACK BETTY didn’t miss the board in seven tries last year and nearly swept a stake at The Meadowlands to close out her year. I’ll look for her to need one from the high draw. Race 6: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: N/A $770 P/S IN 2026 OR 2025-2026 (MIN 7 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. This is a big drop for (4) FRENCHY HANOVER who was holding her own in one of the most recent Pop-Up Series. Look for Davis to put her in play with a good draw. (1) ARCHIMEDES was an underlay last week and will likely be again, but it’s hard to ignore his ever-present grinding style that usually helps in races like this. (7) STONEBRIDGE GLEE took some air in his latest but still produced a decent finish. He could get away a couple spots closer this week. Race 7: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES PACE: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 2. (4) SHURI was a filly I completely overlooked in her return, and she made sure to let me know about it. She closed very nicely down the center of the track and got the job done in the first leg. I’ll give her the nod this week. (2) ON FLEEK produced by far her best mile last week and now takes her shot in the series. She should fit well if that mile is repeatable in any capacity. (8) ANGELS AMOUNG US is likely to close from off the pace again, but her kick allows her to pass many horses late in the mile. If she ever drew well, this would be a different story. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $6,800 LAST 8 STARTS. (W/O $14,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. Last week was the time to try (8) SUPERIOR DELIGHT, because her price won’t be close to the near double-digit mutuel that it was. She was very good last week off the bench from the same post. (4) TWIN B EMPRESS is another Meadowlands shipper with some sharp gate speed. Her issue is that she doesn’t win much. I could see her getting picked off late in the mile. (1) ONE LAST BET has enough speed off the car to get herself into a decent spot. She can hold on for a piece. Race 9: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES TROT: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 2. I’ll try (2) R HALO again after a good second place finish in leg one. She raced well, and should only continue to improve. (6) BELLA CHICA was the beneficiary of Press On Ballykeel having no room. She held off rivals well and should be a factor in this short field. (3) JUST BUSINESS made a decent recovery after an early miscue. I can see her getting a piece tonight. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: ONTARIO SIRED SPRING SERIES PACE: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES, NW $30,000 IN 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 2. (6) PLAYSOMETHINGSWEET raced well in leg one, but was beaten by a filly who got a dream opening on the rail. I can see her potentially tripping out again. (8) ESMERALDA DU LAC was overbet in my opinion, but she raced better than I thought, finishing a good second behind the aforementioned Shuri. The high draw might be a bit more of a challenge, though. (5) DREAMFAIR DIAMOND looked like Bolt The Duer with Macdonald storming up the inside. That’s not a trip she can count on in the long run, but I think she will be in the mix again. Race 11: POP UP SERIES FINAL: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN 2026 (W/O $75,000 IN 2025-26 N/E). AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. (3) MASTERWORK just got up on the outside in an extremely close photo. The top two were well clear of the others in that race. I think he can pull off the series sweep. (6) JOKIC should improve when getting on a regular rotation. He draws a good post and should be forwardly placed. (5) LIKE CHAOS came out of nowhere with a multi-move effort that saw him miss by a hair at a giant price. We’ll see if he can replicate that this week.
