Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,750 (OS $29,500) LIFETIME.

(9) GYMBOREE is coming off a dominant score in her latest after making what appeared to be a speed break in her first start of 2025. She draws outside and steps up vs. nw2 company but looks good enough to replicate another winning performance off that score. (7) EYE OF AN EAGLE was getting set to make a rally turning for home in his latest but jumped it off. He was likely going to get a piece in that effort and he’ll have every opportunity at a winning effort with the right trip. (5) HEY DUDE was a dominant winner at this level two starts back but followed that up with a clunker in his following start. He hasn’t raced in over one month coming in so he has a bit of a question mark surrounding him. (3) BUTTINSKI was able to grab the show spot in his latest; he draws well and should have every chance to hit the ticket here.

Race 2: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED.

(5) BLUE PACIFIC is coming off a clunker at this level but had missed one month going into that start. She should be tighter coming into this evening and should be the one to beat. (3) CENTURY JAMILA is one of the sharpest mares on this circuit and got the best of her stablemate in their latest effort. She should be able to work out a good trip but won’t have the tightness advantage over the one above when they last met. (6) GLENBORO got picked off right at the line by the one above and should have every opportunity to grab a big piece. (2) WESTERN WISH has been sharp and should have every opportunity to close late for a share.

Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, NW $8,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000.

(6) SETTN A PRECEDENT kicked home very nicely from the back of the pack to finish a strong 3rd. She draws well and we could see her be more aggressively handled in this spot; she looks poised for a very strong effort. (5) POWDER PLAY angled out cleanly late in the stretch but the eventual winner got the jump on her. She showed interest throughout the wire and is one of the main contenders here. (2) WILDCAT STAR nabbed the show spot in her latest. She draws inside and should be able to rally late for a piece. (3) MIKKI SIXX was aggressively handled and had nothing to offer in her latest. She steps up in class and might be better suited with a helmet to chase. She can grab a share.

Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME.

(5) MOVIN ON OVER is coming off a very nice, 2nd-place effort in his career debut where he flashed a sub :27 final quarter. He couldn’t get to a dominant winner but looks like he’ll have every opportunity to notch career victory number one. (2) MAGICAL BET gears up for his career debut here this evening off a pair of winning qualifiers. He did it coming off the pace and on the engine and looked good both times in doing so. He is one to monitor here. (6) ROCKY J was aggressively handled in his latest but could not clear to the lead vs. a stubborn leader. He draws well and should be able to put forth a good effort here. (9) ERINWOOD BIG MACK was pacing evenly on the outside in a 3rd place effort in his most recent qualifier. He will debut from the outside this evening and is one I’ll slot in for a share in start number one.

Race 5: POP UP SERIES FINAL: FILLIES & MARES NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS).

(1) COZ IM SPECIAL is looking for the Pop Up Series sweep and draws better than her biggest rival. She has looked strong coming off the pace and should prove tough to fend off this evening as well. (10) CHARMBRO STORMY has looked strong in winning the first two legs in this series and looks for the sweep like the one above. She draws outside but still should be given every chance. (5) RED CARPET READY is coming off consecutive 3rd-place finishes. She draws well and should be able to stick around for a share. (4) LADY GET LUCKY has been a runner-up finisher to a strong winner in the first two legs; she should have every chance to land on the ticket here.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $50,000 (OS $66,500) LIFETIME.

(2) MY LAST KISS didn’t have as much pop late in the mile as I would’ve hoped for. She was coming off a troubled trip two starts back and will now be driven by Doug McNair, who guided her to a strong, 2nd-place effort in their lone time they were paired together. (4) QUIET ASSURANCES was a strong winner at London and was 2nd to a strong winner at this level two starts back. She draws much better and should be forwardly placed this evening, and could prove tough to catch. (5) VENDETTA BLUE CHIP came first up in her latest and tired late. She is capable of a good effort at this level with the right trip. (7) IDEAL ENTRY is coming off a 2nd place qualifying effort and will make her 3rd start in 2025. She was Bret Macdonald’s pick over our top choice.

Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, NW $14,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $29,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $155,000 LIFETIME.

(3) RAPTORS WON is a perfect 2-2 in the Jodie Cullen barn and has looked good in doing so both times. She fits this class yet again because of the optional claiming tag and should be tough to beat. (5) COCO JO JO was a dominant winner vs. inferior competition in her latest. She comes into this start off a sharp effort but will face much tougher stock this evening. (1) CAVIAR N CRACKERS never really had much of a chance after taking a shuffle. She failed to hit the board and is capable of a strong performance with the right trip. (7) ALABAMA HANNAH failed to hit the board in her latest. She had consecutive runner-up finishes in her starts prior and is a strong candidate to hit the ticket.

Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,600 LAST 5 OR NW $9,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,015 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS).

(1) CHIKABELL was an even 3rd in her most recent effort. She had missed three weeks in between starts prior to that effort and could be tighter this evening. (4) DANDYS SHOWTIME plunges down the class ladder here and should be able to compete with this group. (3) TRIBAL DANCER went on a speed mission and hung on to be 2nd. She will likely assert herself off the gate yet again and should work out a favorable trip because of it. (9) SAULSBROOK ABBEY didn’t have the same amount of pop late in the stretch as she did in her starts prior. She draws outside and can hit the ticket.

Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, NW 2 RACES OR NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $21,500) LIFETIME.

(6) SUPERIOR DELIGHT was confidently handled last week and made three moves in a winning effort. She faces the same group and should be tough to beat off that effort. (2) WEST ALEXIS came first up in her latest and was able to hang on to be 2nd. She is capable of an even better showing this evening and is one of the main contenders. (7) WHISKEY BLUE CHIP grabbed the show spot in her latest. She is handy off the gate and will likely be summoned off the wings in this affair; she can grab a piece. (5) AMERICAN STARLIGHT has yet to break her maiden but picks up the services of James MacDonald and could be a sneaky player in this contest.

Race 10: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1.530 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000.

(8) SO NOT COOL recovered nicely in his latest effort and finished a solid 2nd. He will need a trip here but will have plenty of speed to chase. (2) BUCK DANCER disappointed as the choice in his latest after making a miscue. He is back racing in the Carmen Auciello barn where he’s had success at this level and he’s in with a chance. (1) MISTER MAGIC was 3rd in his latest. He’s hit the board in 4 of his last 6 tries and merits respect when at his best. (3) DELICIOUSSTONE DK stayed trotting in his latest and grabbed a share. He can do just that again here.

Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $77,750 LIFETIME.

(10) DEFININGTHE MOMENT is coming off an okay effort in her latest vs. a dominant rival. She draws the outside but picks up James MacDonald, and I’ll give her the whirl in this spot despite pp10. (9) GRIT N GRACE was scratched-sick in her latest but was coming off a 4th place effort vs. tougher company. She has 3 wins in 5 tries this year and is a major player here. (6) MISS DUTTON made a miscue in her latest and was out of it early. She was a winner at this level the last time she competed here and she merits respect. (1) SWIFT TALKER was just picked off in the late stages last time when on the engine. She hasn’t raced for a few weeks coming into this effort and I’ll slot her in for a share. (4) SUNSHINE MAGIC finished 3rd in her latest and should have every opportunity to hit the ticket.
