Top Pick Stats: 62/210 = -$69.40 Best Bets: 6/21 = –$16.70;  Spot Plays: 3/21 = $-16.90 Best Bet: STRONGMAN HANOVER (RACE 5) Spot Play: WESTERN WISH (RACE 8) Early Pick 5: 3,7,8/1,4,8/3/1,10/6 = $3.60 Late Pick 5: 3/1,3,5,6/5/3,9/1,7,8 = $4.80 Race 1:  FILLIES & MARES, NW $8,000 LAST 5 OR $15,750 LAST 10 STARTS. (8) MIKKI SIXX was aggressively handled and was rebuffed after confronting the eventual winner in a first-over bid. She tired late in the mile but takes a big enough drop here to find herself back in the winner’s circle; top call. (7) SHOOT THE WHISKEY didn’t have much of a chance when getting away towards the back of the pack from the rail. She paced home evenly but took on tougher company and should be more competitive in this spot this evening. (3) MISS DUTTON exits the same race as the one above and was even against tougher company. She has been racing well and takes a dip in class vs. a more manageable group; draws well. (4) POWDER PLAY stayed along the cones in her latest and finished up well late in the mile when shaking loose. An effort like that should help keep her brave, but she is likely up against it in this spot this evening. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 5 OR NW $10,500 LAST 10 STARTS. (1) SAULSBROOK ABBEY rallied nicely in the lane last time out to be a narrow 2nd. She takes a dip in class this evening, draws the pole position and should be able to work out a stalking trip and will be tough to fend off late. (4) CHICKABELL was one I was fond of in her last pari-mutuel start, but she put forth an underwhelming performance. She was a judges-scr last week and shows up here adding Lasix for the first time and that could signify that something went amiss in that most recent effort. She retains James MacDonald and has rebound potential here. (8) FIRSTOFANERA was stuck along the cones for most of the mile and angled out late in the stretch where she paced well to be 5th. It was a good effort and she can grab a bigger piece with a cleaner trip. (6) SAULSBROOK OLYMPIA hasn’t hit the board in two straight tries. She does her best work when she has a target to chase and she’ll need a trip to set up in her favor this evening. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (3) COZ IM SPECIAL delivered as the public’s choice in her latest after scoring in first-over fashion. She draws better this evening and will be primed to double up in leg 2 of this Pop Up. (7) LOVE ON ME was second to the choice in her latest. She has been racing well but she’ll need to find a little more in hopes of getting her picture taken. (6) THIS GIRL RULES was aggressively handled in her latest but ended up a distant 4th. She draws well again and will likely be summoned off the wings, which should give her every opportunity to grab a piece this evening.  (2) FATED FIRE rounded out the super in her latest and should be able to hit the ticket. Race 4: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,115 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (1) MISTER MAGIC was aggressively handled in his latest and ended up getting parked by a stubborn leader. He draws inside and should more than likely be able to take this group on from start to finish. (10) DELICIOUSSTONE DK got away nicely off the gate and made a miscue after the ¼. He draws outside this evening but adds trotting hopples in this contest; let’s see! (2) LENIS will be making his first start since 2022 and is coming off a winning qualifier. He tripped out in that morning prep and showed some trot in the lane, but I’d prefer to see a start or two having missed all that time. (6) PESO HANOVER got picked off in his most recent qualifier by the one above. He was under some urging, but is good enough to grab a share here. Race 5: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $9,500 LIFETIME. (6) STRONGMAN HANOVER elected to sit in during his first start of 2025. He was twisting and turning in amongst horses and had plenty of pace. He draws very well this evening and I’m expecting him to go down the road in start #2; top call. (4) MOVING ON OVER showed plenty of pace in his qualifier under a couple of whip-tap reminders by driver Louis-Philippe Roy. He will be making his career off just one qualifier and seems capable of a good effort at first-asking. (8) SNOWPORT will be making his 2025 debut off a 2nd place qualifying effort. Owner Gino Toscani was at the controls in that morning prep and will hand the lines over to Jody Jamieson this evening. He can grab a piece. (3) WILLIE B has hit the board in 3 of his 6 starts this season and will have every chance to hit the ticket. Race 6: NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $25,750 (OS $35,750) LIFETIME. (3) ROSETTA was confidently handled in her latest and kept to task in a strong effort by driver Jody Jamieson. She comes into tonight having won back-to-back starts and gets the nod to threepeat. James MacDonald will be at the controls this evening. (6) EYE OF AN EAGLE angled off the cones late in the mile and was trotting the lane well. He is winless in seven tries this year but will be a major threat if the pace scenario is to his favor. (5) MR BALLYKEEL wasn’t much of a factor over his last two tries after 6th and 8th place efforts respectively. He has shown ability when he’s on his game and is capable of picking up a piece this evening. (8) MUSCLE BRANCH hasn’t hit the board in three straight tries but can hit the ticket in this spot. Race 7:  CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $50,000 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME. (6) ROBBY LOVE DAT wasn’t much of a factor in his latest but took on tougher company in that spot. He loves to do his best work late in the miles and should have some speed to chase in this spot and will be tough to fend off, if live. (5) ON TIME DELIVERY was handled aggressively yet again but was able to hang on for this score. He draws the middle of the gate and should be summoned early, and will likely look to take this group gate-to-wire this evening. (3) JIMMY WHISPERS was a narrow 2nd to the one above. He’s hit the board in 3 of his last 4 starts and should be able to work out a good trip with another favorable draw. (1) JUST ASK JOE scored nicely in his latest despite being far out of it turning for home. He can work out a stalking trip from the rail but I have him slotted in for a share this evening. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, NW $14,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NW $24,500 IN 2025. (5) WESTERN WISH stepped up into the Preferred after being a comfortable winner two starts back. She showed a lot of late interest vs. tougher company and should be feeling extremely brave entering this evening and warrants top billing here. (3) RAPTORS WON left out for early positioning and was able to slip up the inside when a seam opened to score. She debuted for the Jodie Cullen barn last time out and was able to find the winner’s circle despite missing a month; she should be tighter. (1) CAVIAR N CRACKERS didn’t have much pop in her latest and was unable to get involved from pp9. She draws inside this evening in a short field and is capable of a good effort at her best. (4) ALABAMMAH HANNAH disappointed as the chalk in her latest attempt to take on her rivals gate-to-wire. She draws well but faces a deeper group overall this evening. Race 9: POP UP SERIES: FILLIES & MARES NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (3) LADY GET LUCKY was a distant 2nd to a strong winner in her latest. She draws inside this evening and I’m hoping she can get the jump on (9) CHARMBRO STORMY, who will have every opportunity to double up in this spot despite drawing outside. (6) RED CARPET READY was 3rd in her latest off what was a solid effort. She has hit the board in 5 of 9 starts this year and can add to that total here. (7) NO MONEY HONEY didn’t have much of a chance from pp10 and wasn’t involved early on in that effort. She draws better and could work out a better trip. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $25,750 (OS $35,750) LIFETIME. (1) FADEAWAY HANOVER was able to break his maiden in his first start as a sophomore. He had a lot of ground to make up when turning for home and trotted the lane very well to get up for the score. Driver Scott Young sat motionless in the bike in that effort and he looks like he can handle the jump up to nw2 this evening. (8) OH HILL NO worked out a pocket trip to her stablemate in her latest but lost ground as she turned for home. She angled out late and trotted forward to be 2nd in that outing. She draws outside but will likely be involved early on. (7) LUVUTOTHEMOONANBANK came first over against a strong winner and was rebuffed in that outing. He should feel brave coming in and will be given every chance. (6) SOUTHWIND DANI never had a chance from pp10 in her latest. She draws much better and can hit the ticket. Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $22,000) LIFETIME. (6) SUPERIOR DELIGHT gapped a bit on the turn prior to the stretch drive and was trapped in amongst rivals. She got into gear late in the stretch and showed a lot of interest to be 3rd. She could take a step forward here and is one I’ll give the nod to in the nightcap. (2) WEST ALEXIS was off more than one month going into her latest effort in what was a strong 4th place showing. She loses Tyler Borth but picks up Bob McClure who picks up a very live drive in this spot. (5) WHISKEY BLUE CHIP was able to take her rivals from start-to-finish in a winning effort. It was a perfect spot for her last time out, and while this is a similar group, some rivals in her victory showed me little more. (1) LADY HAMISH comes off back-to-back, 2nd place finishes. She has been racing well and will be a strong use in exotics. (10) KANDY KISS has been no worse than 2nd in her three career starts. She draws the furthest outside but gets the nod from driver Tyler Borth over another live rival in this contest.
