Spot Play: FATED FIRE (Race 6)
Early Pick-5: 1,2,5/2,6,7/5/8,10/1,7 $7.20
Late Pick-5: 3/7,10/1,7/4,8/1,6,8 $4.80
Race 1: NW $1,400 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $3,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $710 P/S IN 2025-2026 (MIN 10 STARTS).
(2) VIMY RIDGE VENTI returned a near $60 mutuel last week to the delight of yours truly. He was given a good trip with a new driver and it paid off. I'll go right back to him tonight with post relief. (5) FORBIDDEN TREASURE comes off a sick scratch, but his effort two weeks ago should have him tight if he is over that sickness. Plante looms between the wheels as a down the road threat. I've been waiting for (1) OCEANVIEW NIKKI to pop since shipping from PEI, and tonight could finally be the time against bottom level competition. The concern is she might race from too far off-the-pace due to the rail draw.
Race 2: POP UP SERIES: F&M PURSE STARTERS OF $10,000 OR LESS IN 2026 (W/O $50,000 IN 2025 & $15,000 IN 2026 N/E) AE: N/A $1,000 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 5 STARTS) (FRI/SAT)
(7) GOLDEN LEADER hasn't had the best trips of late, but this field is wide-open and ripe for the taking if Spence wants to try a down-the-road move. (2) MISS DUTTON sneaks into this series after coming up short as the even money favorite. I think she can be forgiven for that effort, as the route up the inside was shaky, and others had gotten the jump. (6) TREASURES WATCHING has been holding her own in recent tries and might have the opportunity to pounce from off a helmet if the early speed doesn't hold.
Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $47,250) LIFETIME.
(5) EA MONEY MAKER had a big uphill climb ahead of her from the jump last week, and rallied extremely well to narrowly miss while finishing second. She should be a major factor tonight. (7) BEACH WIGGLE couldn't be stopped last week after touching down on the lead. I expect her to get away in good order again and produce another quality result. (6) PIPERS LUNA has shown to have some ability, and she definitely needed a tightener off the bench. This is an easier overall group, and I think she can step forward.
Race 4: NW $2,600 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $8,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,420 P/S IN 2025-2026.
(10) VICTOR INVICTUS was finally in the right spot two starts ago and ended up pulling away late. Last week was an obvious trip around the track from a wide post, but he flashed some late trot which could signal his readiness to strike again at this level. (8) BLESS ME FATHER is in a better spot this week after needing a trip around the big track. He has more pop when he can stretch out; I think McClure will have him moving well late. (2) ALL GAS NO BRAKES gets major post relief after a no-chance trip in his latest. He seems due for a wake-up, but I don't think it comes tonight.
Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(7) WINDSUN CHELSEA is one of a few here that deserves another try after a merry-go-round race last week. Another step forward can see this inexperienced filly get a big piece. (1) STEAL MY SUNSHINE also fits that mold. She was losing ground after moving outside, but I can excuse that because of the soft middle-half. (10) LDS KIMBERLY flashed potential in her 2-year-old season, but remained a maiden through nine starts. Both comeback qualifiers have been strong, but a patient drive looms from the high draw.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $15,500 LAST 8 STARTS N/E) AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: NW 4 RACES OR $35,000 LT.
(3) FATED FIRE lacked room in the stretch after leaving out and sitting what looked to be a perfect pocket trip. That's two weeks in-a-row now where she has looked live after making an initial move. (7) UTOPIA BLUE CHIP was a strong drop-and-pop winner last week and really paced home well in the stretch. I expect McClure to get her in a good position off the car. (9) SETTN A PRECEDENT might have no choice but to blast off the car if she wants to get a major piece of this. She is fine from off-the-pace but will likely leave herself too much to do if she takes back.
Race 7: NW $2,600 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $8,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. N/A $1,420 P/S IN 2025-2026.
(7) STONEBRIDGE ZEUS has been in much better form since the claim and could be ready to pop at a price. Roy has driven him well in his last two efforts. I still won't give up on (10) ETERNALLY HANOVER despite the high draw. He was an okay fifth in last week's Pop-Up Final, but was mired in the middle of the pack and took a shuffle. (8) BUCK DANCER is back in form after coming up short three starts ago. Expect him to be forwardly-placed and right there again.
Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $20,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,690 P/S IN 2025-2026.
(7) SUNSHINE MAGIC will be tested this week after a last-to-first win in a snowstorm. Her two starts in the Cullen barn show a ton of potential at these higher levels. I think this is the appropriate level for (1) SORCHA SEELSTER, who was much better in her third start back. McClure should work out a good trip with her. (3) BLINDED BY DELIGHT didn't have the most room after finding a seam up the inside. She has enough speed to get into another stalking spot.
Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, NW $15,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $35,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME.
(4) CC ROCKIN ROSIE made a sharp first-over move to the lead, but was eventually tracked down by Lets N Joy N, who has looked great since coming in. I don't think she lost much in defeat, and she should be tighter tonight. (8) SO MUCH MORE is the obvious class of the field, but she hasn't raced in a month and draws outside. The value lies with her tonight, not in the future. (1) LA MIKI N just missed last time out against Coco Jo Jo, who she faces off against tonight. She may have to make multiple moves from the rail.
Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $965 P/S IN 2026. (MIN 3 STS).
(1) FOREVERAFTERALL would definitely be less of a question with another qualifier under her belt, but she flashed plenty of speed last season and could take advantage of a group that isn't in the best form. (8) LADYTERRA was a good second last week in London, and now returns to the big track where she could step forward with an off-the-pace effort. (6) SANTAFES APPETITE hasn't gotten her preferred trip in her last two efforts, but she showed enough pop last week at this level. I could easily see a speed try coming from her.
