(5) BAYWATCHING improved sharply with Henry in the bike last week and off that strong closing effort she gets top billing here. (6) BLACK BETTY wasn't as sharp as she had been last week when she raced evenly in the Pop Up Event final but she still closed in 27 4/5 and she should be a player vs. these. (7) KOUNNIS requalified well with Macdonald back in the bike. She should be a speed threat here in a spot where the early pace figures to be more even. (1) SOMETHING ROYAL could get a nice trip, similar to last week's when she beat some of these and she is another possibility in a competitive opener.

Race 2: F&M CLM HDCP $8,000 to $10,000

(4) VINES TO HEAVEN seems to be rounding back into form and this is a good spot for her; top call. (7) ERIKAS SHADOW drops back to where she fits best and the wide draw isn't terrible in a seven-horse field; using. (5) MISS ROCKADALI is sure to be the early leader and she could last much longer in this spot. She isn't out of this. (6) BLINK AND GONE won at this level here on 12/9. She is another possibility in another tough Pick 5 leg.

Race 3: NW $3,000 L5 or $9,200 L10

Class droppers should dominate this race led by (2) VILLEFRANCHE AS, who will likely make a dash for the front once the dust settles in the first 1/4. (5) WISHYOUDTELLME gets needed class relief here and he should be one of the main threats; Exacta factor. (6) TOCCOA FALLS shows a couple of decent tries at this level. He should come on late for a share. (9) MEADOWBRANCH NOBLE is capable of passing a few of these late to land in the bottom of the Tri.

Race 4: F&M 5YO and Younger NW3 or $35,000 - Pick 4

(2) BEST KEEPSAKE raced well in defeat here on 12/23 and she can be the controlling speed tonight; top call. (6) LADY AKILA was best of the rest last week behind a dominant winner. She can take another good share racing close to the front tonight. (3) JUST CALL ME SONG makes her third start back after missing five weeks. She lacked room in deep stretch last week and she is capable of rallying to take a share tonight. (5) BETTER WATCH IT should lay close early and stick around for a share.

Race 5: F&M NW $9,000 L5 or $22,000 L10 or NW $115,000 LT AE: Pop Up Starters

(5) ROCKINWITHCUSTARD had been raced first-over in five consecutive starts prior to last week, so keeping her covered up to the lane might have been by design. Still, she was searching for room with pace and found it too late. I can see a more aggressive steer coming this week and she gets the nod. (7) MY BABY GIRL raced tough last week and she was probably unlucky in defeat. She gets bet hard every week, so someone out there really likes her chances; using. (10) GREYSTONE NATALI O is sharp enough that she should be able to land in the Tri or Super even starting from post 10. (1) TUGGINONCREDIT should sit a nice trip here and rally for a share.

Race 6: CLM HDCP $12,000 to $18,000 - Pick 5

(5) BETTOR NOTBITTER A goes for the Marfisi barn off the claim and he doesn't have to face A Boy Named Suuzz this week. He should handle these. (3) SPECTRUM SEELSTER edged the choice last week and he will likely be lurking in the pocket again tonight. He should be the main danger. (1) WINDSONG NAPOLEON brings some good form back from Ottawa but notice he took 19 slices in 31 races last year; small share predicted. (6) RADLEY HANOVER is worth a look for the exotics racing off the claim.

Race 7: Claiming $17,500 for NW $75,000 LT

(2) CENTURY GIGALO raced tough in defeat last week and I'll give him the nod in a race where four or five of them can win with the right trip. (7) CUTTING CLASS got beat at 2 to 5 last week but he remains the main speed and the longer he is left alone on the lead, the braver he becomes; using. (9) ROYAL SHIP took a new life's mark when he best the two choices, but now he is at a post disadvantage. He should still offer value tonight if you like him to repeat. (5) THREE TRICK GAINER had clear sailing at the head of the lane but he didn’t make any significant headway. I'll use him on the bottom this week.

Race 8: CLM HDCP $22,000 to $30,000 - Pick 4

(5) GOLDINTHEBADLANDS and (1) A BOY NAMED SUUZZ collide here with both shooting for a fourth straight win. I'll give the edge to the former who will likely get the jump on his deep-closing rival. (6) MACH IMPACT is popular at the claim box and the betting windows. He has been favored in five of his past six starts. Tonight, he could offer some value and I'll use him on multi-race tickets. (8) OUTKAST BLUE CHIP was a good 2nd racing off the claim last week but now he draws worst. I'll use him on the bottom.

Race 9: F&M NW $18,500 L5 or $28,000 L10 or NW $110,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $35,000

(2) NEWSDAY missed six weeks prior to her last start and she was starting to find her legs in the lane but she was blocked late. I'll side with her tonight expecting improvement coming back in seven days. (1) LYONS TILT HANOVER is an obvious threat on the class drop and she should be the one to fend off late. (4) MAJESTIC VIRGIN is another one that is improving but I see her finishing underneath again tonight. (5) SWIFT ALLY steps up but she is sharp and she can take a share tonight.

Race 10: F&M 5YO and Younger NW4 or $50,000 LT AE: 4YO who were NW $80,000 in 2021

(4) STATE OF MIND produced a nice late rally in the Niagara Series final when 3rd to a filly that would probably be favored in this race; top call. (2) EMMY LOU HAYES has been lights out for Barrington since shipping west and she has to be considered for late multi-race tickets. (3) MYSTIFYING was on some great cover last week when she jumped it off. She fits well here and has some upset potential if she stays flat this time. (1) BELINA dominated weaker last week but she got a soft trip up front. She is a contender here but she could get overbet.

Race 11: F&M NW $3,400 L5 or NW $7,000 L10

(8) POSTMODERNISM improved a bit in her second start back now she drops. It should be all systems go for this mare tonight; top call. (6) GOODNIGHT IRENE gets needed class relief tonight and I expect her to be right there with these; using. (4) BIG MYRTLE is another dropper that should go better in this spot. She might be a pocket rocket in the lane tonight. (3) SOMEWHERE NORTH and (2) TAKEMYBREATHAWAY both figure for shares but offer no value on multi-race tickets facing droppers this week.
