Top Pick Stats: 2 - 10 / $5.10 (-$14.90) Best Bets: 1 - 1 / $2.30 (+$0.30) Spot Plays: 0 - 1 / $0 (-$2.00) Best Bet: PRINCE OF SUSSEX (10TH) Spot Play: D GS TESLA (5TH) Early Pick 5: 1,4,6/2,4/3,7/6,7/1,4,9 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 2,4/2,3,7/2,4,6/1,2,3/1 = $10.80 Early Pick 4: 6,7/1,4,9/2,4/2,3,7 = $7.20 Late Pick 4: 2,4,6/1,2,3/1/1,3,4,8 = $7.20 Race 1: NW $15,000 in 2023 **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (1) BETTINA HANOVER raced okay first up in a better field than this one last week. I see her taking control of this race before the 1/2 then leading all the way from there. (6) ON THE ROPES is in easier here. He should be the main threat starting from the best post. (4) TYMAL TAROT trotted a nice kicker after getting shuffled to 10th. He is in with an upset chance here. (9) HESOHOT HANOVER fits well vs. these and he should come on late to take a share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT (2) QUENTIN QUARANTINO raced well in his debut when 2nd to a huge chalk that had an experience edge on him. It’s probably graduation night now. (4) BOONDOGGLE paced a decent kicker when he finished 3rd in that race, 4 1/4 lengths behind the choice. He could do here if he gets placed closer to the front leaving the gate. (6) CAPTAINS PICK has had plenty of chances and he failed as a big favorite more than once. He is hard to use on top at this point, but he will likely be part pf the exotics here. (8) WINDSUN DIEGO will likely flash early speed again and hang on for a share. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW $2,885 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 or starters for a purse of $9,000 L2 (7) HANDSOME SEBASTIAN gets a key driver change to Filion here and he will probably prove tough to beat if he stays flat. (3) VILLEFRANCHE AS gets to drop to the bottom after missing a check last week, and Roy, who has won with her several times, returns to the bike tonight. She should be the main threat. (8) MEADOWBRANCH NOBLE is another that is in easier here that should get a more aggressive steer. He is in the exotics mix. (6) GRATEFUL should pass a few of these and close late for a share. Race 4: F&M NW $1,500 L3 AE: NW $19,250 in 2023 - Pick 4 There are four mares in here at that are taking multi-level class drops to the bottom. Of those, I’ll side with (6) WESTERN WISH who should get a good trip racing on the lead or from the pocket. (7) RAPTORS WON is another that will likely blast here, and she is capable vs. these; using. (2) SNOW SHARK will almost surely get beat off the gate by the top two and that likely puts her at a disadvantage. I’ll use her underneath. (5) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL will likely sit and close for a share on the class drop. Race 5: F&M 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (1) D GS TESLA got trapped in due to circumstance last week when some rivals got stuck in the outer flow early in the mile. She was free at the head of the lane, but she had too far to come. She closed well and she gets the call to upset here. (4) WILDCAT HERA hasn’t missed the board at this level in four starts and she is one of the fastest in here and an obvious contender; using. (9) PASS THE DREAM flew late but she couldn’t pass the 1 to 5 chalk. She is sharp and in with a chance here. (5) TRUE THAT gets away from tough Alabama Hannah who swept the Niagara series. She should be part of the exotics here. Race 6: NW $4,000 L5 AE: NW2 L10 - Pick 5 The last time (2) DERF HANOVER dropped to this level on 11/17 he was an easy winner, and he figures to be tough in here tonight. (4) DREAM NATION was winning at the Preferred level here 10 months ago. If he wakes up on the class drop tonight in this sixth start back, his rivals will be racing for 2nd; using. (8) CHULO comes off a good closing effort and although Henry opted for the choice, he should still be part of the exotics. (1) VICTOR INVICTUS is typically a good one to use on the bottom of the exotics. Race 7: F&M NW $14,000 L5 or $32,500 L10 Tough race here with several options. (2) WILDCAT STAR paced a big final 1/4 over an off track but she was on too much cover. She can win here if she lays closer early. (7) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP got the best trip and the jump on the choice then held her off late. This race looks like it will set up for a closer and that makes her one of the main contenders. (3) GIAS SURREAL will likely blast and sit in the pocket of one dimensional (6) MAJOR LEAGUE N who is sure to set the pace. The former could get the jump on the closers, so she is useable in the multis. Race 8: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT - Pick 4 (2) ID IMAGINE didn’t get the best trip last time now he gets post relief in a field where he fits well. His race at this level two starts back stamps him as the one to beat; top call. (6) LYONS BRUSHMARK’s first start back vs. better was decent and he looks like the main danger here; using. (4) THE HULK was 0 for 13 racing at Fraser Downs but he contended in most of those races and going for Auciello with Macdonald in the bike makes him worth a look here. (7) CAPTAIN NASHVILLE took plenty of action on debut, but he didn’t show much. I can see him improving enough to land a share here. Race 9: F&M 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $56,250 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO CLM $50,000 AE: NW1 in L10 (3) ELISES DELIGHT was used hard for most of last week’s mile, and she hung in well for 2nd. I think she works out a better trip tonight and gets the job done. (2) POWDER PLAY finished only a length behind the choice despite having missed four weeks. She gets Roy now which should mean an aggressive drive is coming; using. (1) FEAR THE CRUSH lived up to her name last week and although she steps up now, Macdonald sticks, and she is a contender. (4) GLENBORO likely flashes speed and sticks around for a share this time. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW $2,885 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 or starters for a purse of $9,000 L2 (1) PRINCE OF SUSSEX looks best here coming off a two-move win, and he gets the call to repeat. (7) MISTER MAGIC was hard-used in that race and he got no breathers. He figures to be the main threat here and he could lead a long way in this spot. (10) TYMAL RIGGS makes his second start back and his best race would beat these, but I prefer to use him underneath starting from the widest post. (8) IMA STANDUP GUY likely sits and rallies for a share this time. Race 11: F&M that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L4 AE: NW $5,000 L10 (1) CHEDDA CHEDDA just finished 2nd to a mare that is second choice in a much higher class in Race 9 tonight and she only makes the condition because she raced for a purse of $8,700 in the Prospect series in August four starts back. She gets the nod in the finale. (4) POWERED BY MACH beat NW $14,000 L5 rivals last August in 1:50 2/5 and she hasn’t seen the winner’s circle since. If she is going to wake up, this is probably the spot. (3) TWO PISTOL ANNIE raced well here at a higher level four starts back and the barn continues to run hot. She is the other one that I’ll use in the late Pick 4. (8) NORA D whipped an easier field at Flamboro, and she attracts J Mac here and that piques my interest. (7) YES IM HUNGRY is in great form and she is another that can close for a share in this spot.
