Top Pick Stats: 574 - 1761 / $3,010.40 (-$511.60) Best Bets: 87 - 165 / $310.10 (-$19.90) Spot Plays: 30 - 168 / $186.90 (-$149.10) Best Bet: VILLEFRANCHE AS (7TH) Spot Play: WILDCAT STAR (5TH) Early Pick 5: 3/4,6,8/6,8/4,5,7/1,3,4,6 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 2,4,9/7/2,3,7/4,6/2,3,5 = $10.80 Early Pick 4: 4,5,7/1,3,4,6/2,4,9/7 = $7.20 Late Pick 4: 2,3,7/4,6/2,3,5/3,6,10 = $10.80 Race 1: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT **Gtd $100,000 Pick 5** (3) BET ON SUNSHINE will likely be a big chalk here after kicking in 26-flat last week and he should be tough to beat. (6) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER has raced well in all three of his starts since returning from a break and he could be the one to catch in this spot. (8) CAPTAINS PICK barely averted disaster when the pocket sitter broke in front of him on the last turn and he lost valuable ground that he couldn’t make up. The 3rd-place finisher has already come back to win but this gelding missed some time. He can be an exotics factor, though. $18,000 buy (1) BOONDOGGLE is a 1/2 to one that has raced and she won two of four starts. This gelding is worth a look for the bottom of the exotics on debut. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW $15,000 in 2023 (4) SHES GOT PIZAZZ jogged with Henry in the bike last time she raced at this level and she gets that teamster back after a two race absence and she gets the nod. (6) EZRA was better as expected last time drawing better and getting Macdonald in the bike but he failed to convert at 3 to 5. He is an obvious threat again but I wouldn’t take odds-on. (8) BETTINA HANOVER was the one that beat Ezra after working out a good trip and she is in the mix right back. I could see any of the top three winning here. (2) SOUTHWIND CAESER gets needed post relief and he is in the exotics mix tonight. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT AE: 3YO 4YO 5YO CLM $50,000 (6) ELISES DELIGHT should be sharper here returning to a 7-day cycle and she gets post advantage on her main rival; slight nod. (8) DUCHENNE is a great fit at this level and she is the one to beat here. She’s hard to leave off the early Pick 5. (7) MYSTIC WILD ROSE had a good sires stakes campaign and she has finished in the money in more than half of her starts in 2023. She can close for a share here coming off a rest. (5) SAUBLE AMBER gets a better post which should lead to her getting positioned better early in the mile. She can close for a share. Race 4: NW $2,000 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 - Pick 4 (5) PRINCE OF SUSSEX is the horse to beat here coming off a strong 2nd in his first start for Moreau. (7) SO NOT COOL improved sharply when 3rd behind the choice and he is worth using in this spot. (4) MISTER MAGIC got a needed clean line vs. better and it’s noteworthy that Macdonald sticks with him over the choice. He could try to go right down the road here and he could add some value to the early Pick 5. (3) COOL CLIFFORD should get better position leaving the gate this time and I see him sticking around for a share. Race 5: F&M NW $10,975 L5 or $17,050 L10 AE: OPT CLM $50,000 (6) WILDCAT STAR faces a tougher field tonight, but she looked good winning last week, and she draws best; call to repeat. (3) DELITFULCATHERIN N is the only class dropper in the field and she should go much better in this second start over the track; using. (4) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP was first up last week and that’s not her best trip. She should find a helmet to follow this week and that makes her a win possibility. (1) FLIGHT CREW N should close for another small share in this spot. Race 6: 5YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 - Pick 5 $45,000 Lexington buy (2) CAPTAIN NASHVILLE is the fifth foal from his dam and the other four are all winners. This isn’t the toughest spot to make his debut and I’ll give him the nod. (4) BAR DOWN JIM almost bottomed out the field last week and he is likely the one to catch here but he is now 1 for 25, so what price would you accept? (9) LANESIDE SPORTSTAR has kicked in 27 2/5 or faster in his last three starts and that late speed makes him a contender despite drawing widest. (3) LYONS BRUSHMARKS qualified well and finished fast for this return. He should be part of the Tri or Super. Race 7: NW $4,000 L5 or $9,950 L10 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 AE: Starters for a purse of $9K or less L3 (7) VILLEFRANCHE AS drops and likely pops in this spot and she will be a multi-race single for me. (6) DOWEDEALINANDWHY made a nice recovery from a break then requalified well. He steps up one level but he is capable of completing the Exacta. (5) POWER AND GRACE has amazingly finished in the money in 50 of 74 starts in the last two years. She should be in the Tri here, too. (4) EPIC DREAMER is sharp and he can close for another slice. Race 8: F&M NW $1,500 L3 AE: Starters for a purse of $9K or less L3 - Pick 4 (2) CHELSIS CHOICE gets needed class relief here and I’ll take a price swing with her expecting a more aggressive steer. (7) FEEL ITINYOURHANDS drops off a decent effort and she is another that will offer a good price that could pop here in a wide-open dash. (3) CHEDDA CHEDDA stacks up well vs. this group and she is in with a shot in this first start back. Morning line choice (1) FEAR THE CRUSH comes off a perfect trip win at Flamboro and she is one that I will try to beat here. Race 9: FILLIES AND MARES PREFERRED (6) SO MUCH MORE and (4) HUNTRESS will likely battle it out again for the win here in a class where they clearly tower over the others. (5) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN draws better and she should share tonight starting from the middle of the gate. (1) MOMENTARY CONTROL is in solid form and she can sneak into the exotics starting from the rail. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW $4,000 L5 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 (5) THE TURNING POINT ships in from Ohio and goes for the top trainer/driver combo in what looks like a good spot. The stale date may not matter here. (2) TWIST LITTLE GIRL N couldn’t catch a strong winner last week now she draws better and she should offer a higher price. She is in with a shot here. Dropper (3) TWIN B TIPSTER tends to be trip dependent. She can win, but I’d demand a price to find out. (4) FREE TO BE ME fits well at this level and she is in the exotics mix again. Race 11: F&M 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT   (3) JILLIAN JIGGS produced two strong rallies in a row and this looks like a field that she can vault past late; top call. (10) PREMIER DELIGHT will likely get sent hard for the lead by McNair in this easier spot. She should be the one to catch. (6) ROCK N BROOK hadn’t raced in almost seven weeks and she paced a 55 1/5 back 1/2. She can be much better here returning in seven days; using. (1) ROSE RUN YVETTE’s good early speed should allow her to get good position early and she can stick around for a share.  (4) WILDCAT LISA races better off a helmet and she should be part of the exotics.
