Top Pick Stats: 348/1013 (-$377.40) Best Bets: 43/91 ($1.70); Spot Plays: 18/91 (-$57.90) Best Bet: BETTERDOUBLEDOWN (Race 2) Value Play: ALLSMOKEANDMIRRORS (Race 11) Early Pick-5: 1,7,8/4/2,5,6/5,7/6,9   $7.20 Late Pick-5: 1,2,5/4,7/2,3/6/3,5   $4.80 Race 1: NW $2,975 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (1) PASSARINO has the back class to make him the most obvious choice on paper, but recent efforts haven’t exactly inspired much confidence. Still, this is a gigantic class drop, and he really should step forward against these. (8) PESO HANOVER saw the inside open up for him, and he took advantage en route to pulling off the upset win. He has enough gate speed to overcome the post draw. (7) MISTER MAGIC still continues to grind out strong finishes. He has hit the board in 28 of 43 tries this year. The veteran is having a season that really should be talked about more. He is a logical threat once again, especially if the ML favorite falters again. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NIAGARA: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES IN 2025, NW $60,000 LIFETIME AS OF OCTOBER 31, 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 1. (4) BETTERDOUBLEDOWN has been showing forward speed and reliable efforts, and her tactical versatility makes her a real threat if she lands a soft trip near the lead. (5) KIKI DEE HANOVER has been improving with each start, but was stuck with post ten last week. She ended up making the most of that, and now should get a good setup with the post relief. (1) GUCCI SEELSTER faltered in her latest, but was razor sharp before that. I’m curious to see how she looks when moving from the claiming ranks. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFE. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YO N/A $675 P/S IN 2025. (6) STEAL MY SUNSHINE made up solid ground in the late stages in what was her first start since June. She has shown decent ability in limited starts and could be rallying late to pass them all if she steps forward. (2) SKIPTOMYLU HANOVER is a well-bred filly for top connections who looked just fine in her morning preps. She could step forward in a big way on debut. (5) SHURI changed tactics when racing over the bigger Mohawk oval, and it paid off with a sharp second. She appears to be a filly who can get into the race with any trip. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, NW $10,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (5) CAVIAR N CRACKERS got back to herself last week. She gunned down rivals in the lane and just got up for the win when dropping in class. That could be the springboard to get her back to the form we know she is capable of. (7) LYONS BETTORDAY offers late-closing power and has been racing consistently well against tougher groups, even if she doesn’t consistently hit the ticket. She has a strong chance if the pace becomes contested. (8) SORCHA SEELSTER is a horse I usually have to include because of her raw talent and ability, but she normally doesn’t put it all together. Louis Roy gives her the nod. Race 5: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR $2,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $800 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. (6) VILLEFRANCHE AS is always a threat at this bottom level. She comes off a very tough trip where she was parked the mile from post ten. If that mile didn’t take too much out of her, she should loom large again. (9) FABULOUS FREDDIE displays a late kick that is dangerous if he can work out a trip. If he avoids traffic, he’s a logical board hitter. (5) TALK SHOW HOST finally draws better after battling from the high draw a few times. He has strong enough gate speed to get in a stalking spot. Race 6: VALEDICTORY: 3 YEAR COLTS & GELDINGS IN 2025, NW $60,000 LIFETIME AS OF OCTOBER 31, 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 1. (2) MAGICAL BET has shown big speed in recent efforts, and looked to be grinding into contention before being interfered with. I expect J-Mac to get the most out of this horse tonight. (1) HASSELHOFF looks primed for a strong effort, consistently pacing well and showing the best overall kick. The shorter field should help him. (5) GROOVIN WILL was logically just even in his first effort since June, but should have the opportunity to step forward tonight and get a piece. He is lightly raced, but has some speed. Race 7: POP UP SERIES FINAL: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN L3 STARTS AND NW $50,000 IN 2025. AE: NW $30,000 IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). (4) KEVIN ANTHONY brings consistency and strong late-race ability, making him a natural threat to win if he’s within striking distance at the top of the stretch. It would help if the other two logical choices battled in the early stages, too. (7) RADCLIFFE took advantage of the softer division of last week’s Pop-Up Series and cruised to an open length victory. He has the speed to sit a good trip and go by late. (1) JOHNNY BUCKSHOT has had strong recent miles, repeatedly finishing well while showing the ability to sit close or blast early. All three of the top choices are obvious, but two of them have to lose. Race 8: NIAGARA: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES IN 2025, NW $60,000 LIFETIME AS OF OCTOBER 31, 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 1. (3) HIGHLAND DELIGHT was a sharp winner two starts ago with a down the road score. She brings multiple strong finishes and should get a favorable trip if he maintains position early. (2) PIPERS LUNA looms as a major wild card in this race. She brings a near perfect record to Mohawk, and took a clear step forward in her qualifier, but we just don’t know how fast she can be. The leading driver gives her the nod, and she begins her Mohawk career in a stake. That has to count for something. (1) WHO ARE YOU has been in strong form, and usually is, if we’re being honest. She just doesn’t win. She should be sitting somewhat close in the short field and can get a piece. Race 9: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR $2,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $800 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. (6) BUCK DANCER comes off two straight sharp wins at this level after faltering three back when cutting the mile. He could be vulnerable if placed up front again, but the last two efforts have been too good to overlook. (1) DUKE DEO was better last week when racing on the bigger Mohawk oval, and now gets a giant post switch after having to navigate the high draw. He could step forward and add some value. (3) HEAD OF THE CLASS can be steady enough in this class when he minds his manners. He has tactical speed to take advantage of a good starting position. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: VALEDICTORY: 3 YEAR COLTS & GELDINGS IN 2025, NW $60,000 LIFETIME AS OF OCTOBER 31, 2025. NO ALLOWANCES. LEG 1. (3) THE TULSA KING has reliably shown the most on both ends of his recent miles. I’ll give him the nod. This race sets up extremely logically on paper between him and (5) DANCE CAPTAIN who should be firing in the early stages and likely sit in the pocket behind the aforementioned morning line favorite. (1) LEFT HAND LOU has shown more speed since shipping to Canada. His problem, though, is himself. He needs to mind his manners if he wants to have a chance at hitting the ticket. Race 11: FILLIES & MARES, NW $1,250 LAST 4 STARTS (W/O $7,500 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $700 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $12,500. (8) ALLSMOKEANDMIRRORS has been getting beaten soundly in recent efforts, but I’m not sure what you want her to do against the likes of Style For A Mile and the speedy Madrid. Last week was set up purely as a prep race. I could be a week or two early, but she has the opportunity to take advantage of an inconsistent group. (3) FLIGHT CREW N is in sharp form right now and has been making the most of wide post draws. She should be forwardly placed again and in contention when turning for home. (5) IMA DOLL has been holding her own against decent horses at Western Fair. She tends to have some staying power when racing towards the front, but is one who likes to pepper the underneath spots more often than not.
