Top Pick Stats: 16 - 53 / $80.20 (-$25.30) Best Bets: 3 - 5 / $8.50 (-$1.50) Spot Plays: 0 - 5 / $0.00 (-$8.00) Best Bet: BETTINA HANOVER (7TH) Spot Play: WILDCAT HERA (3RD) Early Pick 5: 1/1,4,9/4,6,9/5,8/1,4 = $7.20 Late Pick 5: 1,3,5/9/3,5,7/7,8/1,5,7 = $10.80 Early Pick 4: 5,8/1,4/1,3,5/9 = $2.40 Late Pick 4: 9/3,5,7/7,8/1,5,7 = $3.60 Race 1: F&M 4YO and younger NW $15,000 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (1) MARGOSGOTTHECARGO parlayed an impressive debut win in Ottawa with an even more impressive one here and owner/trainer Moore now hands the lines to the leading driver. She is likely to notch the threepeat at a very short price. (3) AVAS ANGEL BABY beat NW2 here two starts back and then was never in the race last time. From a better post here, she has a great shot to complete the Exacta. (2) SHOVANNA finished with good pace last week and she should be in the exotics mix in this spot. (8) PASS THE DREAM tried the front with no success last week. I think she sits and rallies again like she did here on 12/28. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L4 (9) COZEY UP fired a big mile last week, doing all the work but coming up just short. She can lead all the way tonight. (4) TWO PISTOL ANNIE, who was less than a 1/2-length behind the choice at the wire, also raced well and she should be the main threat here. (1) NORA D fired a nice kicker without threatening and she gets a better post and J Mac sticks; price look. (3) JIMBELINA can improve enough in this spot to land in the bottom of the exotics. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: F&M 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (6) WILDCAT HERA continues to race well and last time McClure drove she was a winner at this level. She gets the nod here starting from the best post. (4) PREMIER DELIGHT is the obvious danger dropping back to the NW2 class and she should get an aggressive steer from Drury; using. (9) ROSE RUN YVETTE was good at this level last week and she has the speed to overcome the wide post. She is another to consider for the early Pick 5. (2) TEAM COLORS took 11 slices in 19 starts last year and she is worth a look for the exotics moving into Montini’s barn tonight. Race 4: NW $5,750 L5 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 - Pick 4 (5) DREAM NATION produced his best mile since 2022 last week and he has a big shot to lead all the way vs. these; top call. (8) MISTER MAGIC moved up last week for Macdonald, producing an eye-catching stretch move to take the win. He is capable of stepping up and repeating; using. (10) MEADOWBRANCH NOBLE was no match for a strong favorite last week but he was clearly best of the rest. He can get a share here. (9) JAYPORT ROADRUNNER moves to the Lester barn for owner/driver Borth. He is worth a look for the bottom of the exotics. Race 5: F&M NW $14,000 L5 or $26,750 L10 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 AE: NW $100,000 LT (4) POWDER PLAY comes off a lifetime-best score and she gets the call to repeat despite facing tougher tonight. (1) J M BETONSIX is another coming off an impressive score and she should find a live helmet to follow tonight. She is capable of repeating with the right trip; using. (9) SETTN A PRECEDENT moves to the leading trainer and picks up the leading driver so sharp improvement is expected but I wonder if she might get over bet. I’ll use her underneath. (6) NEED TO BREATHE will likely last longer on the engine tonight and stay for a share. Race 6: F&M NW $4,350 L5 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 AE: NW $16,000 in 2023 - Pick 5 (5) WESTERN WISH went too fast, too soon last week when dropped to this level. A better rated mile likely gets her a win here. (1) THE TURNING POINT disappointed as the chalk but she could get a pocket trip following the choice here and that makes her a threat. (3) FREE TO BE ME almost blew up the tote board last week, capitalizing on a pace that fell apart late. She is in with a chance here but it’s unlikely she will get to close into a 29 3/5 kicker. I’d demand a price here. (2) SNOW SHARK will probably close late to round out the Tri or Super. Race 7: NW $15,000 in 2023 - Pick 4 (9) BETTINA HANOVER jogged on many of tonight’s rivals last week. It’s hard to make a case against her here. (7) TYMAL TAROT raced well in defeat racing first up a long way and holding 2nd but he would need to make up 3 1/2 lengths on the choice to turn the tables. (1) ON THE ROPES will likely take another inside following trip and land in the Tri or Super. (5) HESOHOT HANOVER should get a better trip starting from an improved post position and he can close late to take a slice. Race 8: F&M 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $58,750 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO CLM $50,000 (3) ELISES DELIGHT made a middle move to the front in a fast opening 1/2, then was overtaken and she spent the rest of the mile chasing. She was a clear 2nd, and she is the one to beat here. (7) FEAR THE CRUSH was closest to the choice and she gets off the rail here which should be a positive post change. She is the other one that I’ll use on late multi-race tickets. (5) VOOM VOOM steps up, but she is sharp and she draws well again. She should be in the mix despite facing tougher. (4) SAUBLE AMBER is worth a look at a price for the bottom of the exotics drawing better. She should be passing rivals late. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES and MARES PREFERRED HANDICAP (8) SO MUCH MORE just keeps truckin’, and Macdonald has been a perfect partner for her. She has overcome the widest post before and she gets the call to do it again tonight. (7) HUNTRESS was on the inside part of a wet track last week and that may not have been the best path late in that card. She figures to be the main threat here. (2) TELLS ON A ROLL got a beautiful trip and she followed the choice into the lane but she couldn’t get past her. I see another slice for her here. (1) STYLE FOR A MILE, 4th in the last two races at this level, is a good one to use on the bottom of the Super. Race 10: NW $2,000 L3 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 (1) TANGLEWILD ROAD trotted a sub-28 third 1/4 last week that shows he is sharp. The class drop here is likely exactly what he needs; price play. (5) MAJORDANCEMOVES is another dropper that merits a close look returning quickly here and he will contend if he stays flat. (7) GRATEFUL rates highly in here and Macdonald will likely have him in contention by the time they reach the 3/4 pole; using. (3) VILLEFRANCHE AS got a perfect trip and she couldn’t close on the top two late. Another small share is likely for her tonight. (6) ESQUIRE should close for another small slice.
