(4) IBELIEVEINANGELS has packed more punch since adding Lasix. Roy has put her in good spots in those two efforts, and she draws well again tonight. (2) TRIX UP MY SLEEVE had shown speed that was good enough to win, but didn’t put it all together until last week, scoring with a perfect trip. He should fit just fine in here. (3) HADLEY was a solid third from off the pace in the Grassroots consolation. She has added some ability to her game from off the speed. She can get a piece.

Race 2: POP UP SERIES: F&M STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN L3 STARTS (W/O $40,000 IN 2025 N/E). AE: NW $30,000 IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 1.
(4) MARGOSGOTTHECARGO showed her quirks in her first start back at Mohawk. Her gait didn’t look comfortable down the backstretch, and she drifted wide around the final turn after making a sustained move to get all the way up to second. She gets James Macdonald in the bike who got along with her very well last year. (5) PARKAVENUEJANET looks to be rounding back into form. The upset win two starts ago was a little unexpected, and she paced home well enough last week to make you think she could sit a good trip and perform. (2) GETTING EUCHERED has missed the exacta once in her last six starts, and comes off a win after sitting a perfect trip at Grand River. She is a trip out candidate again.
Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, NW $12,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $24,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. AE: NW $50,000 OR N/A $3,400 P/S IN 2025.
(5) ONE LAST WISH is driven best with Roy in the bike, in my opinion. She could be the first mare to the lead, which plays to her style. (2) STYLE FOR A MILE is very logical off the big drop in class. She has been facing some of the toughest mares on the grounds. I think McNair puts her in play in the early stages. (6) SORCHA SEELSTER was a solid second when racing after a month off. Nobody was catching Shes Got It All that night, but she showed a new dimension by tracking from up close.
Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YO NW $5,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: 3 YO N/A $2,910 P/S IN 2024-2025.
(3) DUCHESS DEO was a sharp winner when last seen at Mohawk. She has been facing some tough fillies in Kentucky. I’ll look for her to return with a winning effort. (7) LAYDEE FREIGHT was a little too far back last week in the Grassroots Final, but still managed to finish in the money. She is in sharp form right now and deserves to be used on tickets. (8) SANGRIA SUMMER is a rapidly improving freshman filly who drops from some tough tries against the likes of Loua Dipa. Tonight looks like a spot to keep her tight, meaning she doesn’t have to win here.
Race 5: NW $3,300 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $985 P/S IN 2025.
(9) MYRETIREMENTDREAM gets another drop in class as he looks for a wakeup call. He has the sharpest gate speed of anyone in the field, and has frequently overcome bad posts this year. I’ll give him the nod. (6) YANK MY HALO had to settle for second behind a dominant winner at Grand River. He has been a sneaky middle condition type at times, popping up with a good effort now and then. (8) VERACRUZ was a decent third last week when dropping to this level. He had to settle for moving first over but raced fine. He should be a contender in this spot.
Race 6: POP UP SERIES FINAL: H&G STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS (W/O $45,000 IN 2025 N/E). AE: NW $25,000 IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS).
(7) AMERICAN HISTORY was a sharp winner in leg one of this series. He hasn’t shown much sign of slowing down since returning. I’ll look for him to produce another down the road score. (5) MYULTIMATE SNOWY A grinded out a nice second place finish behind American History and is another who is in sharp form. He fits nicely with this group, especially if the fields are going to be shorter. (3) SHANES DREAM tripped out last week and was able to pull off the slight upset. He shouldn’t mind being used in the early stages, because that could set him up perfectly to strike from the pocket again.
Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,750 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000.
(1) COCO JO JO has been better in her last two efforts, and now gets a drop in class that should help her tonight. I would expect J-Mac to drive her like the best mare in the race. (2) ASWEETBEACHHERE has danced a few dances this year against superstar mares. This is her first test that I can remember against Mohawk’s overnight stock. I think she will step forward. (9) ANGOSTURA HANOVER has the ability to make some noise, no question. The problem is, how will she get into the race? She produced good speed off the car last week, but that was from the rail. If she works out a trip, she could be dangerous, but it may be too much to overcome.
Race 8: POP UP SERIES: F&M STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN L3 STARTS (W/O $40,000 IN 2025 N/E). AE: NW $30,000 IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 1.
(4) ROCKS SHADOW closed sharply down the center of the track last time out to nail the leader and get the job done. Her qualifier should keep her tight coming into tonight; I’ll give her the call to repeat. (3) SAUBLE AMBER should find this group a bit more to her liking after racing okay against a tougher bunch at Flamboro. Louis Roy gets the call tonight, adding to her appeal. (7) ALWAYS B MERRY has produced two sharp efforts at Flamboro in as many starts. If she can get into the race from the outside post, she looms as a threat. She should be used in multi race wagers.

Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $30,000 (OS $51,750) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.
(5) GUCCI SEELSTER was a game winner in her first start for the Cullen barn. She is likely to be the filly to catch when turning for home; I’ll give her the nod to repeat. (2) INUKSHUK SALLY was a horse that I took a shot with last week at a price, but she got away too far back to make any real noise. She closed decently for a piece. If she can find a helmet from mid-pack, I like her to add value to exotics. (1) ONEFORMYBABY got picked off as the favorite last week, but that was another good effort around the Mohawk oval. She will take plenty of support again with J-Mac piloting.
Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $7,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,600 P/S IN 2024-2025.
(6) CHICKABELL had a tough trip in her latest, and was well supported in that effort. The combo of superior post position with J-Mac hopping back aboard makes her a threat. (2) SUPERIOR DELIGHT continues to show that she has a nose for the wire, as she just held on for the win in her latest try at this level. She has now made over six figures the hard way. (8) SANTAFES APPETITE races at much higher classes than this at her best, but she just hasn’t found consistent form since moving to Mohawk. I’ll look for her to close for a piece.
