Woodbine launches Power Pick 6 jackpot wager

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Woodbine will launch Friday the Power Pick 6, a jackpot-style wager that will be offered until the end of the meet on Dec. 15.

The 20-cent base bet revolves around bettors picking the winners of six consecutive races on a program. The jackpot proviso means the entire pool pays out only when there is a single winning ticket that picks all six winners. If there is not a unique winning ticket, half of the wagering pool will be carried over to the next card, and the other half is paid out in a consolation to the ticketholders with the most winners in the sequence. At some point, there will be a mandatory payout day.

The new wager is advertised as having a 15 percent takeout.
