Woodbine: Jose Sea View edges Coltimus Prime in Display Stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Jose Sea View ($7.20) prevailed in a thrilling stretch battle with 9-1 shot Coltimus Prime to take the $134,250 Display Stakes under a strong ride from Emma-Jayne Wilson.
Coltimus Prime set a moderate early pace along the rail in the 1 1/16-mile route for 2-year-olds, with Jose Sea View in close proximity. They linked up on the lead near the half-mile pole and fought to the wire, with Jose Sea View scoring by a neck in 1:44.39. It was nearly five lengths back to the favored Ami’s Holiday, the third-place finisher in the seven-horse field.
“He really learned a lot in his last few races, going to Presque Isle and New York,” Wilson said. “I think that was an advantage we had for today. He made me work a little inside the eighth pole.”
Jose Sea View collected $75,000 for owner and breeder Brereton Jones and trainer Reade Baker.
