Woodbine: Impossible Time scores repeat win in Victoriana

ETOBICOKE, Ontario—Impossible Time won the $125,800 Victoriana Stakes for the second year in a row Sunday at Woodbine, under a patient ride from Jesse Campbell.
Impossible Time ($3.50) bided her time near the back of the pack while saving ground on the turn in the 1 1/16-mile turf route. Desire and Fire set an honest pace before retreating, and Impossible Time emerged from traffic early in the stretch to mount a strong rally en route to a two-length tally over Dancing Raven. She covered the distance over firm ground in 1:43.15.
“I wanted to ride her like she was the best horse,” said Campbell. “I did not want to circle the field. I knew I had a lot of horse, and when I asked her, she was able to ease out, and she went well down the lane. She did her job today.”
Megavella finished third at 29-1 in the 10-horse field of Ontario-sired fillies and mares.
Impossible Time, last year’s champion older female in Canada, is in foal to Speightstown. She collected $75,000 for owner Charles Fipke and trainer Roger Attfield.
