Woodbine: I'm a Kittyhawk drops in class for Wednesday allowance

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The stakes winner I’m a Kittyhawk ducks into Ontario-sired allowance company in Wednesday’s fifth race at Woodbine and should be favored in the 1 1/16-mile route for nonwinners of three.
I’m a Kittyhawk graduated in her second career start in a six-furlong maiden special weight race May 5. Three weeks later, she posted a 20-1 upset in the $125,000 Lady Angela Stakes, a seven-furlong test for Ontario-sired 3-year-old fillies.
I’m a Kittyhawk got the summer off after ending up fifth in the June 30 Bison City Stakes. She only was an early factor when she came off the sidelines in a Sept. 14 allowance sprint but was a closing third in the slow-paced Classy ’n Smart Stakes going 1 1/16 miles Sept. 29.
David Moran will ride I’m a Kittyhawk for trainer Franz Crean, who said a long prerace delay led to her surprisingly poor showing Sept. 14. She worked five-eighths in 1:01.40 on Oct. 14 and could be ready to put her best hoof forward in her third start off the layoff.
Primordia has finished third in four consecutive races, including a pair of restricted turf stakes. She had a horrendous trip in the Oct. 12 Carotene, in which she was stuck in traffic in the stretch before surging late to just miss second in the nine-furlong event.
Primordia, who graduated around two turns on Polytrack last fall, has evolved into a turf expert this year, and it will be interesting to see how she handles the surface change. Luis Contreras retains the mount on the Carlos Grant-trained 3-year-old.
Silent Love could only manage a sixth-place finish as the favorite in an Oct. 11 allowance sprint on grass. She previously was fourth after leading the way over yielding ground in the one-mile La Prevoyante Stakes.
Victoria Beebe benefited from a hot pace when she rallied wide to win an allowance for Ontario-sired nonwinners of two at a big price Sept. 29.
Teresa’s Pride is making her first start around two turns, off a troubled run on grass. She has a blend of speed and stamina in her pedigree.
Waitinginthewings and Queenstown both finished far back in the Classy ’n Smart after they had run second and third in an Aug. 30 allowance route.
The low-level claimer Exit Seeker is donning blinkers for her first two-turn try of the year and should set what figures to be a slow pace.
