Race 1
(8) SEE R CHIN WIN debuts for trainer Henriksen coming off a decent qualifier and looks as good as any in this head scratcher that kicks off the card. (2) FREDDIE was one-paced vs. better last time. He has a better shot in this weak group. (3) FORTUNES FRIEND has won two straight out of town taking the overland route and isn’t out of this.
Race 2
(7) MAJOR UNIQUE lands in a weak field devoid of early speed. McNair will be sending him and they could easily go coast-to-coast here. (2) DG RAMTOUGH’s drop back into maidens is big here as he has been facing much tougher than these. Expect sharp improvement. (3) COOL REWARD retains Filion and is another that should improve here.
Race 3
(3) WANAKA has found another field she should handle to keep her winning streak going. Owner/driver Henry should provide another aggressive steer here. (1) HERECOMESTHEBRIDE goes second time for Moreau and Filion over this track and can hit the ticket here. (7) IFIHADABRAIN closed well first time over the Woodbine surface and will be a big price because of the obscure driver; consider for exotic wagers. (5) PAVO broke early then went a really long trip last time. He can be close here if he behaves.
Race 4
(8) TOPVILLE CHEETAH took lots of action and closed well in her Woodbine debut. She looks best in a weak group here. (4) YELLOW MUSTANG makes her first start ever in a claimer here and should wake up vs. these. (1) FROSTY DELIGHT has not looked good at all in recent races but comes into this off a good qualifier and can beat these if she is right.
Race 5
(4) DOCS DIVA is a well-related filly that showed promise in her debut after miscuing early. She can take this group if she behaves. (10) PONDER THE DREAM has been well-bet in both starts and just failed to hold on last time. She is a contender but the 10-hole will be tricky. (7) SODWANA BAY closed sharply but belatedly last time. She should be one of the main contenders here.
Race 6
(5) PERFECT ROAD has really turned things around and goes for two straight here after losing his first 25 races. He is a different animal in trainer Fellows’ barn. (3) DONICUS has won three straight easily and doesn’t need to drop his time by much to contend here. (9) PISCEAN is another to consider for early Pick 4 wagers. She has been showing the signs lately.
Race 7
(3) PYLATER gets a better post, which should put him in a contending position here; call to upset. (7) VEGILANTE HANOVER goes back to Moreau off the claim exiting a race where he had zero pace throughout. This one is hard to gauge. (8) SPORTS VISION makes his first start of the year in a class he should fit and coming in off a good qualifier; using.
Race 8
(3) WINDSUN GLORY was hopelessly pinned in forever by a stalled first-over challenger last week and lost all hope. Let’s try her again at what should be an even better price. (8) CRACKLIN ROSIE was impressive winning from the 2nd tier last week and is the one to beat. (7) ARIZONA SEELSTER raced well from a worse post in her comeback race and can be much closer early, which gives her a much better chance.
Race 9
(2) MONEY MAGIC reemerged late for 2nd last week after contesting a quick opening quarter. Many of those types come back to do well; top call. (7) MADDYS CREDIT was an easy maiden-breaker last time and this group isn’t that much tougher. (1) WINDSONG LINDSEY should get a good following trip here and pick up a share.
Race 10
(2) EASY LOVER HANOVER was an easy winner in his first start for Wallace and looks formidable here. (6) SCARY HARRY produces terrific late speed every week and is the one to fend off. (1) MACHERATI has raced much better in his past two starts and should work out a good trip and take a share. (7) P H KENNY was out the route last time and kept coming. Everything trainer Brealey sends out these days must be considered. (8) MR DESTRUCTION went first up last week which isn’t his trip. Look for him late here.
