Race 1
(4) DOBEE was patiently-driven to the stretch last week, then trotted away to an easy win. It looked like there was plenty more in the tank that night and her price should go up here as she steps up one class; top call. (8) GUSCREST doesn't typically hold his form very long, but he raced well last week and he could have one or two good miles coming before his gait issues resurface. (6) MAN OF DESTINY fell just short vs. non-winners of three last time. He is an obvious contender, but he may be over bet here. (2) SUMMAJESTIC is another to consider for Pick 5 tickets on the class drop.
Race 2
(5) IGNITION SWITCH goes for hot connections off the claim here and he may prove tough to catch despite missing three weeks. (8) FOUR CARD MAJOR has been 2nd to the same impressive winner in two straight races. With that rival gone, he is in with a good chance here. (2) BADSTORMANYPORT drops into a claimer shipping in here and he can trip out near the front for a slice. (6) BAREFOOT BLUEJEANS is a good one to use on the bottom of Tris and Supers.
Race 3
(6) THE ROCKINATOR almost lasted vs. better now he comes up tagged. He should excel in this class - especially here in a field where several have stale dates or obvious recent soundness issues. (2) NEXT THING SMOKEN is worth a look at a price here as one of few that have started recently. (1) REEL has missed more than a month and comes up tagged off a conditioned win. There are several red flags with this one, and I would avoid in the win spot, but he can take a smaller share. (5) JIMMY BE GOOD looks competitive here, but he has missed a month; your call.
Race 4
(6) KAZIMOTO has finished quickly in every start so far. He moves to the best post here and should be in better position to utilize his good late kick. (4) LAWRENCETOWN BEACH - the full-brother to 1:47 3/5 pacer Melmerby Beach - blew up on the far turn in his debut. He can improve sharply here if he stays flat; using. (3) TWICE DRAFTED followed a strong winner home last time and he should be competitive here. (8) NASCAR SEELSTER couldn't clear in a 30 1/5 second 1/4 last week as the chalk so I am inclined to play against him here - understanding he could be better this week and I could get burned.
Race 5
(6) EAST END went a monster uncovered trip last week and stayed for 2nd somehow. Moving to the best post, he has to get a better trip here; preferred. (1) FLYING ORION steps up one level off two easy wins where he drifted out noticeably in the stretch. That tendency could come back to bite him here, but he is a contender and Roy picked him over the choice. (5) TRISUN raced okay from the 10-hole to get third in his return to the circuit. He can share here, too. (4) PODGE should start much better here and he can make the ticket, possibly at a price.
Race 6
(6) ODDS ON AMETHYST has never been better and Hudon is driving him with great confidence. I'm sticking with him. (3) FINISH LINE gave the choice a scare last week. Roy has been a great partner for him; using. (1) CATCH THE DREAM is in super form and he is logical to take a slice here. (4) APRIL ROSE has been very sharp in his last two starts. She can take another share here in her current sharp condition.
Race 7
(5) BEYOMBO came on strong to beat maidens and this step up likely isn't that great considering the progression he has been showing; slight nod as the likely third choice. (3) STEALTH BOMBER showed he may have a chink is his armour last time when he barely held on as the 1/9 choice. He could certainly rebound with a better effort here, but what price would you take? (7) PASSPORT TO ART has raced well since changing hands and he can threaten late here if he can find live cover to follow. (2) AMAZING PERCH gets Roy here off some decent miles at Northville Downs. He should take at least a small slice.
Race 8
(9) SERGEANT SEELSTER took a new life's mark last week with Henry sitting motionless in the bike down the lane. This gelding has really come into his own this year and he will be tough to beat here. (1) EXEMPLAR goes for a stable that has gotten hot recently and if he could land in the pocket early here, he is the most likely upsetter of the choice. (4) STAN THE MAN should go better in his second start off a break; notice he finished with broken equipment last week. (5) FREE WILLY HANOVER got hung out last time and paid the price. He may be on the downswing now after several top efforts in a row.
Race 9
(5) CHEYENNE FORD was first up last week which isn't his best trip. There should be plenty of leavers in here and he could swoop past these in deep stretch. (3) DINNER AT THE MET is another closer that should benefit from a contested early pace here; using. (7) THINK AGAIN powered by late last week and he is another closer that rates highly here. (6) CRANKIN IT UP goes for a new barn here off a solid effort and he should be one of at least three looking for a spot near the front at the start here.
Race 10
(7) SURPRISE HANOVER won in this class on Thursday night and he is sure to be a decent price here with a big class-dropper in the field. I'll go right back to him. (3) MR CARROTTS is sure to get pounded at the windows here dropping to the bottom condition level, but, he has always been a bit win shy and I couldn't take odds-on with him. (4) HOUSE OF TERROR can take a share here if he gets out into the flow this time. (8) TEAM EDWARD has been closing well belatedly and he can do similar work here to take a small slice. (1) SHOCK N ROCK figures to ride the inside lane in mid-pack and he can re-emerge late to take a small share.
