Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from Oct. 5 - Oct. 10

Ken Walters|Oct 12, 2015

Monday, October 5

NEW YORK NIGHTMARE (CLM30000/3YO) suffered through a Woodbine nightmare trip in last and the beaten favorite has to be forgiven.

NOBLE HIGH SHADOW (NW1/3YO) was a game uncovered challenger at 23-1 only to lose to the well bet favorite and second choice. Game effort should be remembered when next week rolls around.

STORMONT WIZARD (NW2) made a huge brush to the lead and waved goodbye.

ABOLUTELY OFFICIAL (NW2) was parked the mile in game uncovered bid challenging the favorite and holding off the late rally of the pocket horse to win by a head.

Thursday, October 8

SOME GOLD (NW1/2YO) rushed up in the final turn, challenged and won going away at nearly 10-1 and can beat better with similar effort.

KATIES BEACH (NW2FM) outgamed two well bet misses to be second best and cannot be discounted in next race or two.

BLISS AND LUCK (NW1/2-3YOF) left to the top, yielded, got shuffled heading home and lost the perfect trip. Rallied willingly but had lost her shot.

SOAKING UP THE SUN (CLMHCP15/20000) left, took the lead, yielded for the pocket and closed strongly. Well bet second choice comes from top shelf barn and will be hard to deny seeking a repeat.

Friday, October 9

GRACIES PARADE (NW3FM) was third over in good flow and closed with pace. Will find a winning spot sooner than later.

RIVETING ROSIE (NW12000) went down the road to the last step. Look for her to hold all the way in quick order next time out.

PAPER BACKED LINDY (NW7500) flashed some late foot from second over and seems capable on best.

JUSTABIT MEAN (NW3000FM) was parked uncovered and challenged the middle half before tiring.

Saturday, October 10

MELMERBY BEACH (NW13000) set his own pace and was much the best in last. A repeat seems well within the realm of probability.

NIRVANA SEELSTER (NW23000) went down the road easily and looms large in chance to continuing winning ways.

BAROCKEY (NW9000FM) put in a strong, game uncovered effort challenging the pacesetting favorite and was dead game for 2nd. Can get it done with any racing luck.

CURIOUS PHOENIX (NW7500) gave it the good old college try in most recent only to nipped on the wire.
