Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from May 2 - May 6

Ken Walters|May 08, 2013

Thursday, May 2

POWER MOVE (NW2) Came wide into the lane, trotted up a storm and gamest for second at a whopping 66-1 in most recent.

MISS POPPYCOCK (3YOFNW1) Put in a very game second in last outing. She yielded, got a mild shuffle, pulled, brushed to the top, yielded again, sat pocket looking strong, rallied well but the winner was too tough.

MARATOGA (NW2FM) Came from out of the clouds again but this time she missed. Beaten favorite can atone at better odds than $.20 on the dollar.

TWIN B SPECIAL (CLM8000FM) Rallied up uncovered, challenged to the third panel and into the stretch, weakened late and was outfinished but at 59-1, she exceeded expectations.

Friday, May 3

MOTOWN MUSCLE (NW2) Closed from back of the pack but it was much too far to come chasing the odds-on favorite to the wire.

ALWAYS AN OPTIMIST (CLMHCP10/15000) Finished with good pace rom third over in most recent and should be along in time soon.

SMASHBOX (NW8000FM) Started to rally in last, got in too tight, broke trying to keep it together. Maybe next race or two that hole doesn't close.

MIA SEELSTER (NW3FM) Got locked in a tight spot with no room any direction in last and never had a chance to fire her guns.

Saturday, May 4

GABLE BLUE CHIP (NW3) Sat in the pocket and was forced to take up in a classic case of `good news, bad news' as the leader broke.

IM FEELING GOOD (NW5000) Was bottled up in the pocket and cleared too late to show best rally.

SPEED AGAIN (NW16500) Rallied steadily in traffic coming between horses and seems more than capable.

COLLEGE MAJOR (NW8000)Was sliding off the rail to tip wide when wiped out by a breaker but appeared to have enough to make presence felt.

Monday, May 6

ARK WENT IN (NW2) Chased a tough home while easily second best in last.

A AND C ARTIST (NW1) Began to rally inside but had to take up in the late stages costing a shot at more.

NEVER BEEN TOLD (NW1) Showed good speed finishing up in the middle of the track in most recent.

BAD BOY MATT (NW2) Finished well on the outside last time at 75-1 and earns a look in near future.
