Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from March 21 - March 25

Ken Walters|Mar 27, 2013

Thursday, March 21

HOLD HER TIGHT (NW1) Got parked the mile, gained cover to the third panel, followed to the lane, flattened and tired but can improve with better luck.

FIRST IMPRESSION (CLM12000) Went down the road winning easily and impressively in variant busting effort and should take another.

ROCKNROLL HARMONY (CLM8000) Finished full of pace but had too far to come and had some broken equipment to hinder his efforts even more.

MACH THIS WAY (NW2FM) Closed strongest coming wide off poor cover and will be hard to best in next race or two.

Friday, March 22

CADILLAC CRUISER (CLMHCP10/12000) Left, tucked, pulled to the half, picked up cover, followed to the stretch, rallied well and was outkicked by a neck. Deserves a look in next race or two.

MARQUIS DE SARAH (BLOSSOM) Pulled the pocket and challenged to the stretch, dug in but was outkicked by the very tough odds-on favorite. This one should win more than her fair share of races.

OAKLEA UPTOWN (NW2) Finished fast from back of the pack in last at 10-1 and will be tough with a better trip.

WORTHY ADVANTAGE (CLMHCP10/12000) This poor luck trotter was used all over the track in last pulling to the half. He pulled to the half, lost cover, tucked the pocket when it opened but got shuffled when the lead changed again, then was stuck on the rail to the lane. He found a route and rallied with good speed to nail second with enough to earn a long look next time out.

Saturday, March 23

AS DUHARAS (NW52000) Finished full of pace from a distant third over and will be along in time soon enough.

GOBAN (NW9200) Sat the ready pocket in tight quarters last time. Cleared too late to launch his best bid but closed gamely once into gear and this beaten favorite can atone in next.

POP COP (NW3) Left a bit wide to the lead but was good in the pocket after allowing a retake, unfortunately got a bit of a shuffle in the final turn, angled clear and closed with good speed but had lost his best chance.

INCOGNITO (NW5200) Sat on the rail, rallied steadily but had to take up in the late stages costing him a good chance at a payday.

Monday, March 25

TAKE MY PICTURE (NW14000) Sat pocket, seemed able but never cleared as the top two battle locking the pocket,

P L FASTSTRIKE (CLMHCP10/15000) Was a distant fifth over in the final turn, skipped some steps battling the urge to go, finally hit the stretch and exploded with pace but the favored winner had the jump on him. Seems more than able.

SHARK FANTASY (YOUTHFUL) Closed gamely between horses to nail second in first leg action.

BERKSHIRE BEAT (OntS) Was a well kept secret in debut winning at 27-1 and will not be the same odds in next.
