Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from Mar. 27 - Mar. 30

Ken Walters|Apr 01, 2015

Friday, March 27

MARQUISE DE SARAH (PRFFM) closed gamely to get second from third over. Beaten favorite has everything except racing luck on her resume lately.

LOTZA MATZAH (NW3FM) tucked, sat, tipped heading home, found late clearance, swung out and closed well.

FASHION GODDESS (NW2) went down the road to the last steps and was second best on the wire.

SEVERUS HANOVER (NW3) yielded the early lead and was shuffled to the three hole. Did not seem comfortable there fighting until taking a bad step or two.

REGALLY READY (NW4FM) finished with a flurry once free of stretch traffic.

Saturday, March 28

TEAM CAPTAIN (YOUTHFUL) finished strong from an impossible in spot in opening round action.

PANTHEON HANOVER (YOUTHFUL) made a big uncovered move coming past the half, challenged the pacesetting favorite and was game and determined but short. A better trip or a slight tweak in the timing of that move may be what it takes.

MUSSELSFRMBRUSSELS (NW125000) was out a long way and rallied gamely uncovered the last quarter but it was a few steps too much to ask.

BILBO HANOVER (NW125000) closed best of all in last but was coming from the moon.

MACHAL JORDAN (NW18000) put in a game uncovered effort to the odds-on favorite in last and was second best.

Monday, March 30

JAC SPADE (CLMHCP8/12000) was far back to the third panel, swung wide into the lane from 4th over and powered home but it was too late. Beaten favorite can atone.

JET BLACK CADILLAC (NW1) trailed to the lane, hit serious overdrive and closed a ton but too late.

YUCATAN (NW2000) left, tucked, pulled past the half second over, followed to the lane, tipped and closed well in game 2nd.

TURBO MACH (NW2) tucked early, pulled past the half, rushed boldly to the lead, battled with the favorite through the lane was second best to that young sharpster.
