Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from Jan. 14 - Jan. 18

Ken Walters|Jan 20, 2016

Thursday, January 14

REGAL FAME (CLM10000) yielded, retook, met stern pressure the last quarter, seemed beaten, gamed back and proved to be the only wire to wire winner on the card.

TWIN B SWEETHEART (BLIZZARD) put in a strong, impressive three move effort and was second best to the covered up, fresher late closing favorite. Three strong moves are an automatic look-see in next.

WINDSUN GLORY (NWFM) made her debut a winning one with strong finish and one doubts she will be 16-1 in next but has to be considered.

NEW STANDARD (NW1) got off slowly, sat to the rear until the third panel, came wide into the lane with strong finish. If he gets involved early he should win going away with same move.

MACHO MASS (NW2) put in one very game uncovered challenge in last and wore down the pacesetting favorite but was not enough to hold off the late rush of the fresh pocketsitting winner.

Friday, January 15

MAPPOS MOENHAY (CLMHCP10/15000FM) went down the road and was wrapped up through the lane in convincing score.

MUCH ADOO (NW2FM) brushed to command coming to the half, dug in gamely while tiring. Beaten favorite can make amends in next.

DOCS HOLLYWOOD (NW6500FM) closed well from the back of the pace but was outkicked. Beaten favorite should be tougher in next if she moves sooner.

FIVE BELOW (NW2) put in a long uncovered bid chasing the pacesetting favorite and tired. Well bet second choice should not ignored in next.

Saturday, January 16

DIGGIN IN (NW2) yielded, got a shuffle, brushed, came home strong while being kept busy through the lane leaving no doubt who was best in last outing.

COOL ROCK (NW7500) closed a ton but had too far to come. Second best on the board and on the track; he shold score soon.

MOHAWK WARRIOR (NW3) came wide from second over and won going away in last and looms as probable repeat winner.

ANISTON SEELSTER (NW15000FM) got double Zeroned in last. Got pressed hard throughout by one Zeron trainee's long uncovered bid and dug in gamely but was nailed on the wire by a fresher second over second Zeron trainee. Maybe next time.

CROCADILE CANYON (CLMHCP25/35000) closed strong and fast but ran out of track.

Monday, January 18

JUST HENRY (CLM800) yielded the lead twice, sat pocket, proved gamest in the late stages.

THE BIG YEAR (NW4000) left, tucked, came uncovered, challenged and won going away in quick time on rough night.

OLE JACK MAGIC (NW6500) went down the road much the best and should take another.

CATCH TWENTY TWO (NW1) closed well from third over and was nailed on the wire. Should get it done soon.
