Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from February 28 to March 3

Ken Walters|Mar 05, 2014

Friday, February 28

GREYSTONE LADYLIKE (NW3500FM) Left well, tucked, pulled passing the half, rushed to challenge, took over heading home, opened up but tired losing it on the wire. Should be able to get it done soon.

TOPANGA CANYON (NW3FM) Was in too tight to maneuver in last and will be a major factor in next.

ADDISON BAY (NW25000FM) Was used hard in last, parked forever before finding the engine, but opened up and held well. Sharp enough to repeat.

I GOT TO BOOGIE (NW3FM) Made the move to brush passing the half, opened up but faltered to the favorite on the wire.

SCARLET STARLET (NW1FM) Deserved a better fate in last as she got caught in traffic with much more in here sights than a 6th place finish.

Saturday, March 1

APPRENTICE HANOVER (PREF) Finished full of pace coming uncovered and roaring by the leader head stretch. Looks like he should be able to take another race or two.

ROCKYS FIRST (NW3900) Left no doubt who was best in lastest down the road crushing victory and should be ready for more.

CHAMPAGNE PHIL (NW8800) Exploded home in last to win going away and will be hard to deny in next outing.

LEAFS AND WINGS (NW8800) Was absolutely brutalized in lastest parked the mile effort. He challenged long, hard and gamely but it was too much to ask.

Monday, March 3

ST LADS MORGAN (CLM8000FM) Was parked forever to gain the lead, took the top and felt immediate pressure from the favorite with the second favorite riding great cover; could not stall them but seems able to earn a nod with a better trip.

FRILL SEEKER (NW10500) Put in a long, game uncovered bid in last at 42-1 and has to be considered in next race or two.

MARABOU (NW6000) Sat to the lane, tipped, came wide, closed steadily and was gaining on the tiring winner.

NOWUCIT NOWUDONT (NW265000) Came from nowhere to get up for 3rd in last and earns a look in next outing.

IDEAL SHADOW (NW2) Proved to be best to win going away off the perfect pocket trip. Should have plenty left to get another shot at the winner's circle.

PASSIONATE KISSER (NW1) Put in a credible uncovered effort in only his second start and should be a little tighter in next.
