Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from Feb. 9 - Feb. 13

Ken Walters|Feb 15, 2017

Thursday, February 9

DAD LEADS (NW1) was parked the mile uncovered, challenged to the lane and tired at 14-1 and deserves some respect for the effort.

FANCOURT (NW2) went to the lead, zipped down the road on the lead to the last steps.

TYMAL WIZARD (CLMHCP12/15000) wired the field in quick order last time and will be hard to catch with similar effort.

HOUSE OF TERROR (NW25000) was parked the mile from the outside, challenged hard to the third call and tired. Should score soon enough.

Friday, February 10

BLACK WIDOW BABY (NW3000FM) was parked the mile uncovered, challenged a long way and tired.

EXHILARATED (NW3000FM) brushed past the quarter, gained the lead and waved goodbye to be the only front stepping winner on the evening.

VOODOO CHARM (NW6000FM) closed strong from an impossible spot in most recent.

HOT SPOT HANOVER (NW15000FM) came from the far side of the moon in last and just missed.

Saturday, February 11

WITHAHEARTOMATCH (NW3) rushed out quickly to the lead, yielded, got stuck behind a quitting horse when the lead changed, cleared in the lane and closed well for second best but had lost any chance.

CHARLIE IS A JOKER (NW8000) went down the road under pressure, shook off the challenge by the lane, tired, dug in game but was nipped by the late rally of the tripped-out favorite.

ALEXAS JACKPOT (PRF) left well to the top, yielded, sat pocket, had no room and never had his shot.

VEGAS ROCKS (NW25000) had too far to come in last but closed best of all at nearly 68-1.

Monday, February 13

PAR INTENDED (CLMHCP20/25000) closed strongly in last and earns long look in next race or two.

BIG RICH (NW13000) rushed to the lead, set the pace under constant pressure and dug in gamely at 50-1 but was nailed on the wire.

NEW TALENT (NW4000) sat in and had little to no room to navigate in the lane.

INTENDED STYLE (CLM8000) left and tucked, sat in behind a tiring horse, slipped out late and closed well for second best.
