Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from Feb. 23 - Feb. 27
Thursday, February 23
SHOE SHINE (CLM8000) rallied gamely but was second best on the board and on the track. His game rally would have scored against many and he has to be considered in next race or two.
JRS BIG BUDDY (NW3) rallied gamely between horses and earned his second place check but was unable to stay with the winning foe that roared through the lane looking like Pegasus on steroids.
DIAMOND TESTED (CLMHCP15/20000/4YOM) was parked the mile uncovered and challenged a long way. Should be tougher with an improved trip.
TOP DOLLAR (CLMHCP12/15000) made a huge brush to the lead and drew off as much the best leaving what appeared to be a lot left in the tank.
Friday, Februay 24
HERESTOJESSICA (CLMHCP8/10000FM) pulled the pocket to the half, rushed to the lead, opened up but tired. Beaten favorite should atone in no time.
DEWAR N SODA (NW3300FM) retook the lead passing the half, set a pressed pace but put the challenger in the rear view mirror heading home.
DEWEYKEEPUMNWHY (NW4400) brushed to the lead coming past the half, rallied well, dug in at 12-1 but was nailed by the pocket-sitting favorite.
REQUEST FOR PAROLE (NW15000FM) brushed wide to the lead passing the half, opened up a lead but was nailed on the wire. Beaten favorite is eligible to get it done in next.
Saturday, February 25
SHEZAREALDEAL (NW10000FM) was looped to the top, parked to the quarter, went down the road to the last step over a tiring track and the beaten favorite could atone in next.
FINISH LINE (NW8000) was parked a long way chasing uncovered, tucked the open pocket at the three-quarters, tipped to the wire and won going away.
J EAGLE FEATHER (NW21000) put in a game down the road effort at 36-1 under steady pressure and was nailed by the tripped-out pocket-sitting winner.
P L JILL (NW3) left slowly, got looped to the top and parked to command, set a good clip and was much the best.
Monday, February 27
SUMMIT CITY TURBO (NW2) was parked to the lead, set a good clip but could not last. Can get it done if a bit tighter.
UTOPIA (NW13000) was parked to the lead, set a good clip and held well to the late closing favorite.
WHO DOESNT (CLMHCP15/18000) closed well from third over and will get it done soon.
MACHAL JORDAN (NW2500) veteran wired the field in last and is always a threat.
