Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from Dec. 19 - Dec. 22

Ken Walters|Dec 23, 2014

Friday, December 19

WINBAK YOUR KASH (NW3000FM) was far back and gapping, came to life, made a huge move to the third panel, rallied through horses, ducked to the rail, closed a big gap, tipped mid lane and came on strongest. A move like that has to be remembered and probably will so she won't be 13-1 next time.

WOODMERE TRULYBLUE (NW2FM) was just one of many winners on the card for her connections but she won with a strong uncovered challenge and looms as hard to ignore in next.

LATOKA (NW2) was amazing in last parked for most of the mile. Finished full of trot and won going away. Stay with him to mine some more gold.

DAZZLE N DELIGHT (NW3FM) tucked early, sat in, had pace in the lane, rallied well but freed too late. It would have been a shocker at 55-1.

PUTMEINTOGO (NW9000FM) well be second choice brushed strongly to the half, gained the lead, tired in the lane, rallied gamely but was second best.

Saturday, December 20

ROCK ME AMASTREOS (NW3500) put in one game effort at 11-1 and held gamely all the way only to be nailed on the wire.

SEAWIND PASCALE (NW3) sat pocket, rallied gamely to the wire at 25-1 and refused to go away but could not go by the short-priced favorite.

LEAFS AND WINGS (NW3500) sounds like a hockey man can't make up his mind but this veteran battled heart and soul all the way to the last step after being parked the mile uncovered and challenging a long way.

CRACKER JACK (NW4) finished full of trot but had too much ground to make up. Beaten favorite was 4th over entering the lane on a night when speed ruled.

Monday, December 22

NEILS GOLDEN GIRL (NW2) absolutely exploded from the edge of the earth to win going away at 30-1. Can't say the odds will be the same but the same effort wins more than another race.

ESCUELA (CLMHCP12/15000) took them all to school in last and taught them a lesson in stubborn gameness. She was parked the mile, challenged to the final turn, took over, opened up a couple then gutted it out to the wire.

ROETHBLISSBERGER (NW2000) tried the front in last and gave it his all but was picked off in deep stretch but a fresher foe. Speed did not rule the night and this battling gelding deserves another look.

WHISTLE JIMMY (NW1/2-3YO) was one of only two down the road winners last time out. Well bet odds-on favorite left no doubt who was best.
