Woodbine Harness: Horses to watch from April 24 - April 26

Ken Walters|Apr 30, 2014

Thursday, April 24

DAPPLE APPLE (CLM8000FM) Was in traffic heading home stucking behind a fading pocket sitter, slipped out, rallied strong and game and got there on the money looking like she could do it again.

ROYAL ASHTON (NW1) Put in a good down the road effort on a night when off the pace was winning and should be holding to the wire in next race or two.

ZORGWIJK JOCK (CLM12000) Was parked a long way to the top clearing well past the half, went down the road but was picked off in the lane, Beaten favorite had right connections and will atone.

SHADOWBRIAND (NW2) Left, tucked, pulled to the half, challenged uncovered, took the lead heading home but was nailed by a fresher horse. Should get it done in next.

Friday, April 25

BRUSHSTROKES (NW4500FM) Put in a game long uncovered effort in last and was giving till the end only to be outkicked inside by the fresh legs of the short-priced favorite.

MEADOWVIEW ARTY (NW3600) The winner got away heading home and this beaten favorite just had too far to come while he made a determined stretch rally.

RECKON IM READY (CLMHCP20/30000) Took an early tuck, pulled unocvered to the half, rushed up, challenged, took over heading home and could not stall he late closing winner. Beaten favorite deserves another chance.

BAROCKEY (NW8200FM) Yielded an early lead for the pocket but was shuffled back, managed to slip out heading home with good rally but it was only enough for second best.

Saturday, April 26

ROGER MACH EM (DIPLOMAT) May have been second best to the betting public and at the finish but showed more than enough to earn respect in next leg.

INTENSE AMERICA (NW7000) Trotted up a storm through the stretch from third over but had much too far to come.

ADVERSARY SEELSTER (NWW3) Finished with a full head of steam from a distant third over but this well connected battler will get to the winner's circle soon.

JAC SPADE (CLMHCP15/25000) Was another third over late closer that earned a long look in next after strong rally on a night made for front steppers and pocket sitters.

EVENIN OF PLEASURE (NW17000) Had the pocket and loomed dangerous through the stretch but the pocket was sewn closed.
