Woodbine halts Saturday card amid strong wind

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Woodbine canceled its Saturday card after the third race due to strong winds.

The start of the 11-race card was delayed by a half-hour in the hope of diminishing winds as the afternoon progressed, but to no avail.

Saturday’s co-featured 2-year-old stakes, the Shady Well and Clarendon, will be re-carded for Friday and will not be open for new entries.

All other canceled overnight races from Saturday will be offered as carryovers that will be re-opened for new entries and will be given equal preference with races in Condition Book 11.

The meet is scheduled to conclude on Dec. 11.
