Woodbine: Feathers wins it again

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Feathers closed stoutly in the stretch to win the $142,625 Ontario Fashion Handicap for the second year in a row.

Feathers was reserved well off the early pace in the six-furlong dash, as Dreams Go Bye set rapid fractions while being tracked by favored El Prado Essence. Sheila's Prospect came wide off the turn and overtook El Prado Essence early in the stretch, but Feathers came charging to win by a half-length.

Feathers' entrymate, Miss Sweep, finished three-quarters of a length back of Sheila's Prospect in third in the 10-horse field of fillies and mares. The entry paid $8.80 to win. Lightning Pace reared at the break, and was declared a non-starter.

The time was 1:10.82 seconds over a muddy track.
