Woodbine: Colorful Judgement by a neck

Colorful Judgement ($13.60) overhauled 9-1 shot Lenny the Lender in the final strides to capture the Grade 2 at Woodbine.
Colorful Judgement was one of four Sam-Son Farm runners in the 1 3/8-mile turf race, including 3-10 favorite Strut the Stage, who trailed in the seven-horse field. The others were the designated rabbit, Longship, who was third at 51-1, and fourth-place finisher Rainbows for Luck.
Longship set slow fractions of 25.85 seconds, 51.91, and 1:15.50, while being stalked by a host of runners. Lenny the Lender took control early in the drive, but Colorful Judgement came along the rail to collar him in deep stretch and win by a neck, in a final time of 2:16.19.
"I had a perfect trip," said Slade Callaghan, who rode Colorful Judgement. "My horse was right up there, and I stayed on the rail and saved a lot of ground. Things just went right for us."
Colorful Judgement, who is trained by Mark Frostad, earned $165,150 of the $275,250 purse.
A large show wager on Strut the Stage helped to create show payoffs of $9.70 on Colorful Judgement, $18.40 on Lenny the Lender, and $55.10 on Longship.
