Woodbine cancels Thursday card due to poor air quality
ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Woodbine has canceled Thursday’s live Thoroughbred card due to poor air quality wrought by wildfire smoke in the greater Toronto area.
Environment Canada’s air quality index for Toronto is listed as "high risk" and is expected to remain at this level throughout Thursday. Woodbine’s decision to cancel comes through consultation with the HBPA and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and is consistent with the AGCO’s air quality guidelines.
Woodbine will look to provide racing opportunities for Thursday’s canceled races on this Sunday’s card and into next week.
The next card of live racing is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m.
