Woodbine cancels Friday, July 17, card due to poor air quality

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Woodbine canceled Friday’s live Thoroughbred card due to poor air quality in the greater Toronto area.

Environment Canada’s air quality index for Toronto is listed as “High Risk” and is expected to remain at that level into Friday evening. Woodbine’s decision to cancel comes through consultation with the HBPA and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and is consistent with the AGCO’s air quality guidelines.

The next card of live racing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
