Woodbine: Brass in Pocket rallies

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Brass in Pocket ($19.50) rallied wide to capture the $187,250 by a neck over Mysterious Affair at Woodbine.

Brass in Pocket trailed the 10-horse field early under David Clark, and was still second-last entering the turn. Dreams Go Bye set splits of 22.10 and 45.63 seconds while being pressed by Leading Roll, who opened up a clear lead at the top of the stretch.

Brass in Pocket commenced a five-wide bid on the turn, and edged by Mysterious Affair in deep stretch to complete six furlongs in 1:12.69.

The race completed a sweep of Woodbine's weekend stakes by owner Frank DiGiulio Jr. and trainer Bob Tiller, who won Friday's Jacques Cartier Stakes with Rare Friends.

"The track was very slow today, and the speed backed up," said Tiller. "She came running, and got the job done. The track really helped her."
