Woodbine: 'Bad Boy' sharp in return

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Chris's Bad Boy ($4.60) ran Florida shipper I'm the Tiger into the ground en route to a decisive score in the six-furlong Jacques Cartier Stakes, Woodbine's opening day feature.

I'm the Tiger led through fractions of 22.55 and 44.61 seconds while being pressed by Chris's Bad Boy. Jockey Jono Jones set down Chris's Bad Boy early in the stretch, and overhauled I'm the Tiger at the eighth pole before drawing off for a four-length win. Slim Dusty closed to finish another half-length back in third in the seven-horse field.

The final time, over a muddy track, was 1:08.75.

It was the first start for Chris's Bad Boy since Nov. 29, when he set Woodbine's six-furlong track record of 1:08.05 in the Kennedy Road Stakes.

Trained by Vito Armata, Chris's Bad Boy earned $81,450 of the $135,750 purse for Alpine Stable.
