Wonder Gal back with Gyarmati

Wonder Gal, beaten a length when third to Take Charge Brandi in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, returned to trainer Leah Gyarmati’s Belmont Park barn this week to begin training for her 3-year-old season.
Following the Breeders’ Cup, Gyarmati sent Wonder Gal – along with the graded stakes winners Sweet Reason and Noble Moon – to Fair Winds Farm in Cream Ridge, N.J., for a break.
“She looks like she grew a little bit, and she didn’t need to grow too much,” Gyarmati said. “She was already big.”
Gyarmati said Wonder Gal would jog for a week or so before starting to gallop. An early-season target could be the Gazelle at Aqueduct on April 4, with a race or two beforehand.
Gyarmati said Sweet Reason, who earned Grade 1 wins in the Acorn and Test, and the Jerome Stakes winner Noble Moon likely would come back to her in the middle of January.
