Wonder Gadot the latest star filly for sire Medaglia d'Oro

Queen’s Plate heroine Wonder Gadot added another feather to sire Medaglia d’Oro’s cap, and her Plate victory on Saturday did so in fitting style. Not only is she the latest standout filly for the Darley stallion, but she also displays his hallmark versatility.
Wonder Gadot, who finished a close second in the Kentucky Oaks prior to the Queen’s Plate, gives Medaglia d’Oro another star filly, joining the likes of Hall of Famer Rachel Alexandra, two-time Eclipse Award champion Songbird, and Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty.
While her Queen’s Plate romp came on Woodbine’s synthetic track, Wonder Gadot is also a Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed on dirt and Grade 1-placed on turf.
Medaglia d’Oro sired a pair of winners at last fall’s Breeders’ Cup, where his long-winded son Talismanic won the Turf while daughter Bar of Gold won the Filly and Mare Sprint on dirt. While Rachel Alexandra, Songbird, and Plum Pretty all excelled on dirt, Medaglia d’Oro is also the sire of Grade 1-winning turf fillies Coffee Clique, Marketing Mix, and New Money Honey.
