Woman At the Well goes gate to wire in Petticoat

Woman At the Well became a stakes winner Saturday night, when she led throughout for a three-length win over Kowboy’s Gigi in the $50,000 Petticoat at the Downs at Albuquerque. It was another three-quarters of a length back in third to Laudation.
The Petticoat was a six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies.
Woman At the Well ($5) broke on top and proceeded to set fractions of 22.53 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 44.64 for the half-mile before going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:09.36.
Roimes Chirinos was aboard for trainer Weston Martin.
Woman At the Well earned $30,000 for the win for owner Karl Pergola. She is a Florida-bred daughter of Old Fashioned and overall has won 3 of 6 starts and earned $61,290.
