COLUMBUS, Neb. - Witt's Halo set all the pace to score his first stakes win with a 1 1/4-length victory in Sunday's $10,400 Club House Special on Sunday at Columbus. With Michael Kretzler riding for leading trainer Dudley Graham, Witt's Halo was in front throughout racing well off the inside. He lugged in some through the final sixteenth but remained clear to post his second straight win. He covered the six furlongs in 1:15 over a fast track and returned $6.60 as the third choice in the field of six. Julie C rallied through the lane for second, while 8-5 favorite Gotcher Number challenged but faded to third in the drive, 3 3/4 lengths in back of Julie C. The 3-1 exacta returned $9.40. A 2-year-old colt by Uncle Abbie, Witt's Halo broke his maiden on opening weekend by 10 lengths.
