Windy Forecast dominates Pleasanton Oaks

The favored Windy Forecast, coming out of the Grade 3 Miss Preakness, found the competition much easier as she romped to a four-length victory in the $59,015 Pleasanton Oaks on Sunday at the Oak Tree at Pleasanton meet at the Alameda County Fair.
Windy Forecast, a $260,000 Ocala purchase in April 2014, was never headed in the six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies while setting honest fractions of 22.56 and 45.70 seconds. She pulled away in the lane to win by four lengths in 1:10. 25 under William Antongeorgi III.
While Windy Forecast ($6.60) continued strong, her early challengers faded as Patsy G and Me rallied for second, edging Deb's Wildcard, who was coming off a win in the Seattle Handicap, for second by a nose. Deb's Wildcard was a head in front of Tip Top Lady.
A Kentucky-bred daughter of Stormy Atlantic out of the Forty Niner mare Scapegoat, Windy Forecast earned $32,700 for her first stakes victory and second win in seven starts.
She is owned by Darrell Brown, Lindy Brown or THIP LLC and trained by Simon Callaghan.
