Win Win Win training in Ocala toward return

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – As Mike Trombetta begins the road to the 2020 Kentucky Derby with Independence Hall in Wednesday’s $150,000 Jerome Stakes, his 2019 Kentucky Derby runner, Win Win Win, has resumed training at Live Oak Stud in Ocala, Fla.
“He’s at the farm in Ocala, which is the best place for him to be right now,” Trombetta said of the son of Hat Trick.
Win Win Win, who ran 10th in the Kentucky Derby and seventh in the Preakness, has not run since winning the Manila Stakes on turf on July 4 at Belmont. Trombetta said Win Win Win was given 90 days off after the race before he started back in training.
“I hope to see him back either at Tampa or possibly early, early spring,” Trombetta said.
Trombetta said he is planning to have a six-horse string at Tampa led by Independence Hall. Last year, Win Win Win won the Pasco Stakes and was third in the Tampa Bay Derby on his way to a second in the Blue Grass Stakes prior to the Kentucky Derby.
