Win Win Win tops Trombetta's stakes trio next weekend

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Mike Trombetta will be taking a few shots in stakes next weekend at Saratoga.
Trombetta said he plans to run Win Win Win in the Grade 1 Forego, Premier Star in the Grade 2 Amsterdam – both on Saturday – and the Puerto Rican import Lucky Stride in the Grade 3, $125,000 Shuvee on the Sunday.
The last time Win Win Win raced seven furlongs on dirt, the conditions of the Forego, was in January 2019 when he won the Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs by 7 1/4 lengths in a track record 1:20.89.
“I think that might be a distance that might work out for him,” Trombetta said.
On Aug. 16, Trombetta worked Win Win Win five furlongs in company with Lucky Stride. Win Win Win went five furlongs in 59.06 seconds, and Lucky Stride went in 59.26.

Most recently, Win Win Win finished second to Complexity in a stakes-caliber allowance going a one-turn mile July 2 at Belmont.
“He ran a winning race,” Trombetta said. “He got bottled up and didn’t get out until it was too late.”
Trombetta said he saw enough from Lucky Stride in that aforementioned work to take a shot in the Shuvee. Lucky Stride won 8 of 11 starts at Camarero Racetrack in Puerto Rico. She is now owned by Sonata Stable.
Premier Star, a son of Tapiture, is coming off a 3 1/2-length allowance victory Aug. 6 at Laurel Park, running six furlongs in 1:09.03 and earning a career-best 90 Beyer Speed Figure.
